Copying Pictures - Am I blind?

Are we at all surprised the eBay would do something like this?

I am not sure any of it will make a difference from what the guy said.

I also asked if they had changed their policy of watermarks, and they said no.

reference: pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/how-to-take-product-photos/ebay-photo-requirements.html

The main issue with their policy on watermarks is that it has to be so small and off of the main picture. Since the watermark has to go on the border it can be cropped out… especially when the photos are taken from Google where the ebay watermark is downsized significantly.

I had to Google that guy haha.

It is very upsetting. I have “23,057 Files” just for Nintendo (1/10 folders for Pokemon scans).

Who in the world would file a lawsuit for a picture scan? That was the option “support” gave me for when I could not work it out with the seller. Its not like this is Coke and Target used their red color.

With every new update on policy and/or fees, somehow ebay is doing less for more money.

I realize this is just me whining, but it would nice to see updates that show that ebay has a concern for sellers.

I understand the frustration I’ve had a few of these happe to me and much more happen to my friend edmerlr. I’ve used a few pictures of his when I was able to take pictures (I do it during the day on my phone for the quality I like). I ask him for permission before borrowing any pictures. I know you don’t know this person so this may have not been an option. It’s simply the lack of customs and courtesies among sellers and people in life .

We’ve all noticed this shift on ebays s part towards catering to the buyers. In today’s age its much easier to open your own site. Getting the traffic to flow from eBay to the new site is rocky start but as more and more sellers take this route eBay will learn or lose out.

I remember some months ago that someone on a Swedish auction site were trying to sell some Pokemon cards with TCA’s watermark on it aswell, he was using it as stock photo along with his own images. unfortunately it’s too old now to find but if I see something like it again I can let you know :slightly_frowning_face:

Yeah, that’s him. Did you see his house? It’s a little bigger than mine lol.

The new picture appeals process is done through here: pages.ebay.com/vero/notice.html

I do not know if it it works wells, but hopefully it does. It is definitely a more documented approach. The form was easy to follow. You were only allowed to attach one photo even the form allowed for up to 3 images reports. That did not make sense to me but maybe they will fix that. If anyone goes to fill this out and wants more info just message me.

You click the “here” and follow the steps from there.

Not meaning to harp on this even more; but sometimes, I just need to post what other sellers say in response to me asking them to remove the photos.

"New message from: rubiomagic (186,526RedShooting Star)

These are not your photos, you did not create the game, or the pictures, and have no proof that you took the picture. We did not even take these pictures from you. It is not “hard work” to put these photos up. You seriously need to get a life and stop harassing people over photos that you do not own the rights to."

I messaged them again about the Break Evolution pics one more time, since the new vero process requires you to print out and then scan back in the NOCI form. It just really gets under my skin when I get a message like this.

Crap practice and a worse attitude to boot. They’ve made at least one block list, for what it is worth.

Out of 11 sales?

Lol. 12 negative feedback out of 11 deals. That’s next level terrible.

Pokemon buyers these days be like: “well, if it’s cheaper I’ll still buy from him”
