Color Variats in Jungle & Fossil?

I know Base Set has well-documented yellow/orange border variations, e.g.:

Recently I noticed similar differences in my Jungle and Fossil cards, some have lighter yellow borders, others look deeper or more orange.

Are these recognized print variations in Jungle/Fossil (e.g., tied to specific runs or regions), or just normal ink/saturation differences within WOTC printing?

Would appreciate any insight and your examples. Would be great if we can collect some side-by-side comparisons from users!

Here are a few of my examples:
(Not the ideal comparison since the cards aren’t identical, but you’d still expect similar border saturation within the same set.)

Dragonite has much lighter yellow border compared to orange border of Hitmonlee:

Hypno (middle) has darker (more orange) border compared to Gengar and Haunter:

All wotc sets have color / saturation variation, especially early sets. But even until the very end, they always had lighter copies and darker copies.

But… so did media factory on old backs. From base to vending, everything. Just a common factor in printing processes. Wotc can be more significant sure, but it happens to the best of us.

Due to the slabs, itll be tough to tell. Some could be uk, usa or australia.

Put a bright flashlight through them. If any is blue core, should be a usa variant. Not all usa are blue core.

If you can get a loupe on the HP, you can see if they have a cyan outline. Late print usa characteristic.

if the yellow front borders glow yellow/gold under UV, i believe thats another trait of later print foils.

wish i knew more for foils but hard to get a proper card pool when singles are $20 each

This Jolteon is my best example for a more orange border on a Jungle holo. I believe it’s also more saturated than normal for both yellow and cyan ink. Something to this extent is beyond what I’d expect from normal print variation, but also not really recognized at large as its own variant/error. That could just be due to scarcity.

I do also have this Scyther with additional ink on the border, the only example I’ve seen on a Jungle holo. Not something you could extrapolate across the whole holo set in the same way, but pertinent to the border discussion.

One of the most extreme examples from my own collection is corrected Fossil Zapdos, the border colour blends almost too well with rest of the card.

Second picture is borrowed from ebay, the difference can be really noticeable.

These are not holos and not all from Fossil / Jungle, but nonetheless interesting examples of colour variations!

Another example from my own collection of a Fossil print variation. I personally love the super saturated Raichu on the left. The difference doesn’t come across as strongly in this image, but I’ll try to take a better photo at some point and share it.
