Chinese PokePark Card Questions!

Hello everyone! It’s mjisaacs again asking more questions about cards in the miscellaneous languages! Now before everyone sends me links keep in mind I have read this two articles already:
guangjoe.com/pokemon-cards-in-china/
www.elitefourum.com/t/chinese-pokemon-cards/14247/1
Excellent job by the way @guangsta

I’m wondering 2 things that the community might be able to help me with:

  1. Has any new Chinese cards came out since then?
  2. In Joe’s article he speaks on the PokePark promo cards and speaks on the possibility of there being 17 cards, however to my knowledge only 10 have shown up, the 9 in his picture plus a Celebi posted on eBay that he sold. Since several months have pasted since the original post, I thought I would strike up this conversation again and see if anyone knows anything about them or if anyone has seen other cards show up through private buying places.

If anyone has any information at all, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, on a side note, he says that a high end Pikachu collector has the PokePark Pikachu, is that you @quuador ?

Glad you enjoyed the article.

  1. No new Chinese cards whatsoever.
  2. Just the 10 promos found so far. The guess at 17 was based on the numbering at bottom of the cards, but they don’t all say x/17 so I think those numbers correlate to the original set of cards given out at the Japanese pokepark (same Pokémon featured, different art and cards). So probs just laziness or a mistake in having those numbers there. They might even relate to the pop series that they pulled the cards from to make this set? Someone else will know more about that.

And no, it wasn’t Quaador who bought the first one (I believe he has since got himself two of these though which may or may not have gone through me at some point!) but I won’t say who bought it. I’ll jist say you can find it on Instagram if you search around

  1. No, not to my knowledge. All the Chinese cards are mentioned in the excellent articles made by @guangsta.

  2. I’m pretty sure they just used the exact same numbering as the English cards they’ve copied from. Some of them are from POP1, others POP2, some POP4, and some promos. All have a.f.a.i.k. the same numbering as the English counterparts with the same artworks.
I don’t know if there are 10 or 17, though. But I’ve only seen those pictured in the articles myself.

And no, I’m not the high end Pikachu collector who bought the first copy. That would be Justin, who posted about it here on E4 in his collection thread. Although I haven’t spoken to Justin in a long while, he isn’t very actively collecting Pikachus anymore since he moved and I surpassed him near the end of 2017, and his website is also missing quite a few of the newest releases (although it does contain most Sun & Moon cards). In terms of total amount, I currently have the largest Pikachu collection, Tom from Belgium second, and Justin third (a.f.a.i.k.). I have quite a few errors, though. So excluding those, only looking at officially released Pikachus, Tom currently has more than me (about 20 more). Not that numbers really matters, we all three are collectors who just love to collect all Pikachus.

I’m not sure what his source was, but Tom was able to buy three of these Chinese POP4 Pikachus at the start of this year, and he sold one of those three to me (and the third is also already gone). So all three of us are in the possession of the Chinese POP4 Pikachu, and have all four available Chinese Pikachus in our collection (the other three being Base 1st ed.; Base UED; Jungle PWC2000 tail-stamped).

Greetz,
Quuador

Thank you both! @guangsta @quuador
My last question as I was looking through my checklist of cards to get is, are there any reverse holos in the EX Legend Makers set? I know that Quuador you didn’t think there was based off of your ultimate Haunter list but I wasn’t sure if that information had changed at all.

Mjisaacs

No reverse holos in Chinese, not is there a box topper.

Quick question, does anyone know the distribution numbers for the PokePark cards?
I can only see a single image of a Chinese Championship Arena on Google, after coming of knowledge of the cards’ existence yesterday thanks to Hershey ^^’

Not quite sure, but I’d love to know too. I think these 10 cards are gonna be what I search out next so maybe we can help each other out!
