Maybe wait until it corrects, but would it be a good idea to buy a PSA 9 of this card or should I still go by the rule of do not buy anything in modern below a PSA 10? Is this card an exception to only buy PSA 10 modern?
Go on tcgplayer and look at the 1 year price trend for each swsh alt art. Most have a massive pump dump at the same time. Don’t fomo into modern English set cards still in print.

Why is it doing this?
- It’s the most graded pokemon, which points to the popularity
- It comes from a set that is currently very popular
- It has a comparatively low PSA 10 rate vs. swsh, which drives up interest and PSA 10 prices
- This one’s just my opinion but the art is very good, especially compared to other chase card options in S&V
There’s other reasons too, but that should answer the questions you asked.

I think so too. I even think that this charizard art is better than the umbreon one. It feels like the Latias Latios team up to me.
I would not go for a 9. Either safe up for a 10 or buy another card. If it is about investing, there are far better options at this moment. It it is about wanting the card, wait a bit or buy raw.
