Championship Series Cards - Why so Few in Early Years?

So I was completing my Fanfare PSA 10 Set for 2021-2023 and wanted to complete the Championship Series 2018-2020 as well. I thought it was some what of a joke that the 2018 Card was listed on eBay for 11K. I then research it and noticed that there are only about 60ish of these cards graded in PSA 10 and less than 150 ever graded. Upon further research and they sell for about 5Kish in Japan. I understand this is a prize redemption, but does anyone know why so few were redeemed or created?

I never noticed how few of them were out there until I did some more research.

The 2018 release was “awarded to players who had accumulated at least
120 Championship Points over the course of the 2017-2018 season.”

The 2019 release was “was awarded to players accumulating at least
60 Championship Points over the course of the 2018-2019 season, up to August 31, 2019 inclusive.”

The 2019-2020 season was curtailed due to COVID-19. As a result, the print for this season was distributed to players accumulating at least
30 Championship Points.

So it makes sense that the more “expensive” and harder to get card was the 2018 copy with 120 points VS the 2020 version with 30 points.

Below are the population reports of each card.

These releases give me hints of similar point redemption style cards such as with the Daisuki club in 2009-2010. Although this is the case, the artworks are exclusive Himeno artworks, but nothing crazy grabs the eye with these releases unless you are @Dizzle with that 2019 release :rat:

Thought I’d share the information to those who were wondering the same like myself.

They set the point requirement too high in the first year so not as many were awarded
