It’s hard to make the text look good for every possible card. The variable font size is not ideal though. Personally I would change the order to be
Pokémon - Year - Language
Set Name - Set Number
Card Name
Variant [ex. Holo, Full art, 1st edition]
So it would look like this:
Pokémon - 2000 - English
Neo Genesis - 14/111
Slowking
Holo, 1st Edition
Pokémon - 2002 - English
Expedition - 6/165
Charizard
Holo
I would also have it set to a font size that allows 5 lines so that if the set name is really long, it can wrap onto the extra line. You wouldn’t need variable text sizes then
This is obviously my own tastes and the changes are pretty small but just wanted to put that out into the world.
Yeah I was thinking I could put the submission number in the address line but without the internal form it could be lost. I’m not sure if it is worth it
I voted No. These are the things that I dislike about the new label.
It’s not blue. It doesn’t scream “CGC” to me, but that feeling will probably go away with time.
I don’t think adding “Certified Guaranty Company” is helpful or interesting. They previously wrote “CGC Universal Grade,” which I think is more attractive.
I hate the inconsistency with font sizing, but that will probably be resolved soon.
The backside of the label is not great. If you’re going to include a QR code, please balance it with the CGC verification sticker. Maybe it would look better right-adjusted.
It’s still one of the most boring unattractive labels Ive seen. At least give it a bit of interest and use a font that doesnt look like Arial narrow. If youre going to use the back at least dont clutter the front with a barcode and serial number. If the label is going to have a antiforgery foil then do something interesting and not have the name/logo again on it right next to the full name spelled out, just the scales would have been fine.
The more I look the less interested I am in CGC going forward.
All of my slabs are displayed on my wall so every time I see them I am reminded of the pain. Difficult decision for me to make on how I’m going to handle slabs going forward
