I was almost a CGC customer in the beginning. Even tho I didn’t decide to grade with them. Thank God. I still could have made the same mistake many others did. I do truly feel bad for anyone this effects. If it happened to me I’d be devastated
weird that you’d feel bad for all of the people who now can change their 9.5s to 10s
i can only imagine how many 9.5 wotc cards are selling right now
all the decently priced ones are gone lol, I nabbed only one. I dont wanna miss out on the fun
so much negativity on the internet about this change… would be funny if they announce they will pause on the change on July 12
Now the market is back to some resemblance of normal and the card grading amounts are shrinking it’s all about positioning. I have another group of cards at psa. The prob on here is I mention cgc and get several messages back so replying looks like I’m all cgc when the subject comes up.
i took a nap and woke up to a couple new offers on my perfect 10 great tusk that has been up for about two weeks with nobody biting any of the offers i sent out to them.
at this point i almost wonder if a seller even needs to bother reholding their 9.5s when they plan to sell.
i know i’m looking forward to all of these being 10s and with ting lu being my favorite among them, it’ll be a nice contender to check out the pristine label in person.
not to mention, the new label (not including the pristine) will be more subtle and blend into the white background better.
i know the blue is iconic at this point, but i do think it is distracting
I think that would be a worse look than anything they did. It would show that literally nothing is consistent
Just noticed the live feed from earlier has been added to cgc IG for anyone that’s interested in watching it.
I could actually see them doing a mea culpa on subgrades (like 10% chance), leaving it at $15, and posting an increased TAT for cards with subs. Nothing else is getting changed though, no shot
I think you can watch without an account.
If not someone please let me know.
Here’s the link.
What are they doing??? This completely screws with any loyal customer! Giving a 10 to all 9.5 grades sounds rediculous too and no sub grades is a giant flip. I just graded a 7.5 fan club karp that had a 6.5 surface, so guess what I’m gonna do? Resubmit and have that 6.5 erased! Yay!
This is just bonkers. They are driving people towards BGS if they like subgrades and driving people to PSA that want consistency!
It’s lose lose! Except if you have s collection of 9.5 I guess. Plus, the label is not exactly great looking.
Who would have guessed that BGS would be the smartest by simply giving all silver labels and listening to the customer. Of course PSA is the smartest of all by simply doing nothing!
Lmao
Did we get an answer for inked cards?
Ya, all I’m getting is that rather than being a better BGS & improve on what they tried they’re aiming to be something inbetween PSA & BGS. All you get is a weaker product on both ends of what they’re trying to replicate.
I can’t see many ppl getting into CGC 10s seriously because they’re proven to be significantly inferior to BGS & PSA now. Just gonna be a flippers market most likely imo.
I am very curious how they will be handling high value cards. Charging a %-based fee for a reholder to a higher grade would be the greediest thing they have ever done.
Love all of these changes personally. No more dogwater blue labels and no more dirty subgrades.
I refuse to believe anyone liked those 1998 powerpoint blue labels.
My two CGC Black Flame Ninetales are gonna look so good with that new label
CSG changed in early 2022 away from the green.
The new labels were based on the CSG labels. Here’s an example of current CSG
ah so it seems this is just csg overpowering cgc cards
