I have summarized the article in the OP. Basically, it looks like they want to compete with PSA and not BGS anymore. No more .5 grades (I misunderstood this) subgrades or 12 different grades above mint.

The blue label has always been atrocious imo. This one is nicer. The pristine is a bit cheesy though.
I think this will ostracize a lot of their loyal consumer base. Seems like a constant pattern with CGC. But I do think it’s a strong and correct move for them if they want to actually take away a significant portion of PSA customers anytime in the future.
