kept meaning to make a thread, kept coming up with excuses to put it off- but no longer pictures aren’t the best quality and my binders aren’t completely sorted, but at this point i’d like to have something up that i can always come back to touch up later
i kinda just have a mishmash of whatever cards interest me ! there’s a few focuses (poliwhirl, gardevoir, and trainers), but if i like it i want it
poliwhirl ! i love my son, and luckily none of his appearances are crazy expensive. i have a relatively complete english collection (missing a few recent prints as i don’t often open packs), and am now looking to expand with both english print variations/misprints and other languages ! 151 really got me and i picked up a bunch of the new AR in japanese, so there’s no better time than now to open the floodgates (said ARs are not pictured as it would double the slideshow length lol)
i’ve also always loved cute pokemon, and gardevoir made a really nice accompaniment to poliwhirl in that it frequently gets chase variants for each era ! pulling the gardevoir & sylveon alt art when i was first getting back into collecting really cemented gardevoir as at least a smaller focus in my collection. i’m pretty behind, but am focusing on english versions for now (have a hard time saying no to jp deals though lol)
well now that i’ve fooled you into thinking i only species collect, here’s the trainer section. i’ve been into anime/manga for essentially as long as i have been pokemon, and pulling hex maniac from BoXY was probably the thing that pulled me back into cards from really only playing the video games for a few years
A person after my own heart. I view my collection as all over the place too. Species( Greninja) vintage and modern( special arts, both English and Japanese ), artist ( Komiya and Kato) English, Japanese. It’s nice to see someone that’s part of my tribe! Thanks for sharing.
I love when binders have random assortments, it reminds me of my childhood collection where I just put the next card I got right in to the first available spot
lol yeah i just call it danone/yogurt poliwhirl, saw a sealed one pop up one day and figured they weren’t super common to come across. want to grab an open one for the binder in time !

now onto a small update from buyee/my lgs! a few full art supporters i didn’t want to leave the year without having, cool little gym medal promo (mirror reverse + gold stamp is so clean), and a couple random pokemon variations that i didn’t yet have
