Buying some burning shadow boxes

Hey guys I’m a new collector/seller and I wanted toknoe if it’s a good idea to start my journey with a case of burning shadows ( I haven’t collected in a while) I was able save some money and I want to pull the trigger  , but I have a few question …

should I start with inglish cards or Japanese cards?
Where can I get the best deal to get a case?
Should I grade them before I sell them ?
What do you guys do with all the commons ?

If I’m missing anything please let me know, I thank you in advance!!

Hey, welcome back to the hobby  Are you purely buying to open and sell the cards? or collect?
If so I would really consider doing more research into the tcg before buying into new saturated sets purely for profit.

A little bit of both , collecting a few of them , and selling what I don’t want … I guess the way I see it is just I’m just buying to get what I want and selling to keep my hobby going, not even sure if that fairly possibly but I want to give it a try

Go Japanese, I’m only going for the Ho-Oh Charizard set personally,

I made this guide for collectors returning to Pokemon, enjoy!

Welcome to the collectors club!

I have to say, you’re at a road that splits into two.
Here’s a few things;

  • Do you want to get a complete master set of ‘Burning Shadows’? or just obtain very specific cards?
  • I found this seller on e-bay: www.ebay.com/usr/sportsandmore and they sell booster cases for around USD $86.99~$89.99 a box a bit cheaper than some sellers + free shipping.
  • I just bulk sell all the commons. Sell your basic energy cards as well.
  • I’m getting the Japanese booster boxes so I’ll get a sneak peek at what the set will be like.

The amount you will spend on doubles out of the case will be more than what you can sell them for. Plus you have to go through the trouble of selling them in a saturated market.
The goal to sell the cards you don’t need to buy ones you do need is not a very good idea in general.
Better to buy singles and save that money from the beginning.

Wow a lot of great info thank you very much!

So Japanese cards get release first? Where do you get them from, and yes your eBay has them a lot cheaper then the ones I was looking at! Thank you!

I seen a lot of videos it sure does have a lot of benefits!

Every set that comes out in english, it comes out in Japanese before any other language.
I’m currently in Japan for holiday so I’m buying some Japanese pokemon TCG.

With one or two exceptions

Depends on how quick you want to be to the punch. If I am pre-ordering for 1st day or very soon, I order off AmiAmi and bulk order due to some nice discounts on there. If I am looking at about 2-3 weeks after release, I just pre-order off eBay and wait for an eBay Bucks discount. If I am really not in a hurry I wait for the amazon listings to come up, prime order and then save 5% with an Amazon card.

While its not relevant how I do my orders, its relevant to know that especially in the States, there are ways to order very quick, or very very slow.
