Buyer claiming damage in transit, I think scam ...?

INFO: please ask any questions to help me understand whats going on

I sent these items together to a single buyer in a bubble mailer with each card wrapped in the tissue paper you see in the photo. I have sent many cards this way.

The buyer filed a return and uploaded the photo above, which in my opinion is damage inflicted by an individual once they were out of the packaging but I guess you can help me with your own opinions.

The buyer filed the return a day after he got the item

The buyer has not responded to my requests asking for higher res photos

EDIT: Also each individual card was wrapped in one of those thin plastic psa sleeves which are noticeably absent in this photo

EDIT: you can right click the image and open in new tab as it is larger than displayed here. Its pretty bad quality though but its all i have

EDIT: Ebay smashed psa case buyer scam.

Just wanted to put that in incase someone searches it in future

EDIT: Looks like this guy is a known scammer whoā€™s current eBay name is s.handa91 and used to be pokes42, beware folks. Read the comments for more info

Iā€™m guessing it wasnā€™t cracked when you sent it? You didnā€™t make that quite explicit.

Apologiesā€¦ The cases were intact and in perfect condition prior to sending and were advertised as such with photos of the front and back of the cases

I didnā€™t know it was possible to take photos that blurry in 2018.

In these photos the pressure point is on the top/side. This is indicative of someone cracking the case. If the damage were organic, there would be chips and different pressure points. Also what is the damage on the cards? If this were genuine damage from the mail, how did both cards slip out? Also the label/case type is the sturdiest PSA has ever produced.

No way for us to know for sure. Iā€™d have to try to make sure those are the same cards that were in the cases. If theyā€™re the same, then Iā€™d believe the buyer (cause why would he do it on purpose unless it was a swap)
You can tell by matching up centering or foil patterns or back specs.
Hard to believe though that that damage happened during shipping.

Damn thats a whole new level of dodgy. Gooda luck on this one. Thats crazy!

Do you have a picture of the item packaged up?(I do it for items over Ā£50)
How did you send them? what did you wrap them in, and how did you ship?
Which country did it go to?
Did you have do not bend, fragile on the package?
What have ebay said/done? and have you tried calling them or customer support and explaining+showing your proof etc.
It is hard to tell because the pic is so sh**, if they cant show more pictures it is even more dodgey. Hopefully you have some luck with ebay, explaining the issue.

If push comes to show, use google translate to tell the buyer you will be passing the information over to Royal Mail, and claims for items damaged in transit, which arent, is a criminal offence. The Royal Mail dont take it lightly and would likely press charges if if was a false claim.

Buyer name so I can block please

I didnt take a picture, I have never had to deal with this before, I will from now on.

The packaging did not have any notice regarding ā€˜do not bendā€™ or anything.

I have spoken on the phone to ebay twice and the second time they opened an investigation into the claim.

They were in a bubble mailed wrapped in tissue paper within psa case sleeves. I posted it international tracked and signed. It went from the UK to Italy

That is a pro move right there!

Thatā€™s some next level damage. I really doubt it happened during shipping. Those are / were GEM MT 10 cards no less, so sad to see this kind a sabotage. Even worse is heā€™s 99% likely to win his return case. Iā€™m really sorry man, this sucks.

What was the Celebi PSA serial number

And

Give us a link to the listing

Definitely get those higher-resolution images so you can confirm they are the same cards. Hopefully you can get good enough pictures to compare them to the cards in your listing and therefore provide pictorial proof that they are not the same cards.

If they are the same cards, then the only incentive I can think of is a case of buyerā€™s remorse. Did you specify that there were no returns on your listing? If so, maybe the buyer is trying to circumvent that.

True words here, buyer seems to always ***** win.

How lucky for the case on the right to break right where you would need it to, to pull out the card safely. What a POS

This guy purchased a PSA10 JP Unlimited Goldstar Rayquaza from a friend of mine. When he received it, he opened a claim, pretending that he received another card (a $10 worth PSA6 card). Paypal and eBay trusted him, he ā€œsent backā€ his PSA6 crappy card and kept the Goldstar Rayquazaā€¦ and got refunded of course.

So yeah, this guy is quite ā€œdangerousā€.

Oh by the way, his eBay username used to be ā€œPokes42ā€, but he changed his username (keeping the same account though). His real name when he purchased my friendā€™s card was Rocco Carbone.
