Buyer claiming damage in transit, I think scam ...?

I’ve seen a few dozen “cracked” PSA cases and they look similar to those in the photo. Cracked as in intentionally cracked to remove the card for regrade. In this case likely to get the nice quality cards out and swap out cheap damaged ones to likely return to you.

I’ve shipped at minimum several hundred single psa cards in a PSA card sleeve followed by a 0000 padded envelope inside of a 0 padded envelope all over the world. Only 1 time have I had an issue and it was a single crack the the front side middle only of a card and even that I believe was done by a malicious buyer. This is either literally once in a lifetime bad luck or malicious.

Did you file a dispute? Did eBay just agree that you had sent him the wrong card?

Edit: when was this?

No reflection on our great Italian members here on e4 but the majority of my problems like this case here, have come from Italy. Can anybody explain this?

It was not me but a friend of mine ; but yeah, he did, and eBay agreed with the buyer since they had no way to check what was really inside the package…

Wow, when was this?

Oh come on Scott, he clearly took this photo with his digital camera that got damaged during shipping. He’s the most unlucky eBay buyer in the world.

About 4 months ago I think ; so yeah the guy basically traded a PSA6 Hitmonlee for a PSA10 Goldstar Rayquaza, with Paypal and eBay’s agreement. Quite a sad story, and he keeps scamming people without any problem…

Somebody else got scammed by the same person, his eBay username is kosmo88, you may want to contact him !

Needless to say: until further notice, BLOCK s.handa91

Damaged in shipping my ass. Super convenient for it to crack where you can easily slide the card out as someone has pointed… Just as @smpratte explained, it would not have a centralized pressure point of breaking.

No user with that name apparently

Oh yeah sorry, it’s Kosm88 actually

USPS will notify you when they’ve damaged your mail if they’re aware it’s damaged. How could damage this significant go unnoticed by them?

USPS won’t notify anything between the UK and Italy :stuck_out_tongue:

oh my bad. should’ve paid closer attention.

my life’s motto

I have received PSA cards with broken cases before, never looked like that. Here’s an example, the case split cleanly in half.

Unfortunately eBuyer I mean eBay will favor with the buyer usually. I’m guessing he will try and send back different cards

Some may remember I had an incident where my customer opened a sealed case of J-Hook theme decks. Niche item very rare to find sealed cases. He claims he thought he was buying a sealed case of preconstructed theme deck cases. So x6 precon cases containing 8 theme decks per case would of had 48 theme decks, so he thought. The case I was selling only contained 6 individual J-Hook theme decks. My customer decided to open up the sealed case and then complained he didn’t get what he ordered. Even though I had multiple pictures and a detailed description. To summarize it up he opened an item not as described case, got a full refund and never mailed me back the opened case of J-Hook decks. Complained to eBay and PayPal multiple times and nothing got resolved.

Ok guys so I have spoken with kosm88 mentioned above and this guy is a regular scammer. He has provided me with details of at least 5 other cases, some eBay, some just PayPal. Just try to avoid him at all costs. He is a criminal
