Buyer Claiming Cards are fake. What to do?

Hi all, quick question:

Recently sold a lot of Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard from Evolutions on eBay. Well the buyer received it and claims they are ‘easily’ fakes just by telling from the backside. They want their money back or refund. Since I priced the lot at $40, refund isn’t too big a deal to me.

I did respond to them with the 3x evolutions boxes I bought from DACard from which the card and many other cards were pulled, put everything into a collection of images onto imgur and sent them the link. I also sold many of the other cards on eBay with no issues or claims they were fake. The complete lot of code cards were sold and I assume everything was good too. I highly doubt DAcard would sell me three fake boxes so I am very confident the buyer just doesnt know they are real or fake, or are having buyers remorse.

What should my best course of action be? Just refund? I’d rather have a happy customer and do the best for my eBay reputation. But I’m also annoyed by someone calling the cards fakes…

You probably won’t have many options other than to just accept the return. It isn’t worth your time to fight it. It’s probably best to just get the items back, block the buyer, and move on!

You can’t argue with a customer even if you are right. Best to accept the return and make sure they send the actual items back

Annoying prick though, they prob thought they were buying base set or something stupid

Going to be more amd more of this thinking they are buying base cards. Reprint = Fake = Newbie

I have had a few buyers that were concerned about fakes. A lot of times they are new and just being overly cautious. Sometimes it’s best to try and help put their minds at ease like you did. Glad it got resolved!

some buyers are really great at “researching”.

what can you do…

glad they changed their mind. they seem pretty certain you were the asshole who sold fake cards…

Nice that it was resolved. As a side note, is there any difference between the back of an old/modern English card?

Yes, old is darker

Glad it worked itself out for you

Even the printing method over time has changed. The yellow border used to be solid yellow under microscope but now it actually isnt. They put red dots in it now.

Another new pokemon ‘investor’ who is buying based on speculation and Uncle Timmy’s recommendation? XD

I can see alot of issues for sellers as newbie buyers come into the market with no knowledge of the market or items they are purchasing.
