Binder VS Graded Cards

Huh, I guess I’ve never checked the POP. TIL

BinderGang!

I keep a rule in place for me: If it is for a set, it stays in the set. Basically, I would grade almost all the NM/LP vintage holo or better cards I have, but after placing this rule, I have (mostly) saved myself. I have pulled maybe one card from a set… but it was a bonus in a box and it’s just beautiful.

Almost everything I own is in binders or etbs, currently only own 5 slabs, have 8 cards off being graded, and just over 50 cards ready to get graded. I’d say I have upwards of 5K cards in boxes and nearly 800 cards in binders. Idk, I like being able to put my grubby hands and nasty breath all over my cards LMAO

Graded cards in a binder

In the end, this question will always come with answers based in subjectivity. Theres no “right” way to do anything in collecting, so long as you figure out where it is youd like to go with what you have.

In my own collecting experience, Ive found that hardest thing to do at times is to listen to ones inner voice on what to do. When we’re in a realm and time where opinions get thrown around quicker than imaginable, so it can be overwhelming at times to where our own best judgements arent heard anymore and instead we adopt the idea of another. This isnt always a bad thing, however it can be when one doesnt take out the time to sort out this info and decide what it is to do that best suits ones personal needs.

I mention this as usually these questions arise due in part to these matters. So in that respect, the best idea here is to reason with what will be best with your collecting goals moving forward. Some do binders, some do graded cards, and some do both, but in summary again the right choice will always be what you’re comfortable with and what you love most, so go based on your heart as opposed to the world around you. That way, youll never steer yourself wrong.

sweet binder pages. What order are they in though?

I am a binder collector. I did send a bunch of cards to get graded but only to sell. I like looking for raw cards and getting satisfaction of getting a mintish card for my binder. Probably would save me some anxiety by buying graded and cracking but it’s thrilling to possibly save some money. I just like the way cards look in a binder, especially on some nice black background pages. So far the hardest card to find was Latios Gold star. Not mint but decent condition. I lucked out that my front page (the best cards I have) came from when I was 13. So it didn’t cost me anything. I switched to a quad column binder just so I could put all the shinnings on one page.

None. I just organize them however I think looks pretty. Sets I put in number order, and large collections I put in chronological order, but those pages that are just cards I enjoy are random

WHAT A PAGE!
I agree the black pages are the best. Never going back.

Well done.

Just a suggestion, but shining Imakuni would look rather splendid in that corner spot

Very jealous to see that festival Mew just sitting in a binder. Wouldn’t be so jealous if t’was in a slab. bahaha! JK, All. JK!

Quite well! As you can see, since I’m typing this at 1:27 AM. …I derive nourishment from the ire of slab collectors.

If you crack slabs for binders, is the opposite then, slabbing the whole binder?

Binders but I would like to get some Graded just to see if they are worthy.
