No company is perfect, both have screwed up in the past. Both have also done well, which is why they both have a large market share (not just Pokemon).
At the end of the day it’s a matter of preference when you choose one over the other. If you focus on collecting what you like and not what others do, you will be a lot happier.
Does anyone else lose interest in a thread when one person suddenly decides to control every aspect of it? Page 1 was an enjoyable read and then it became a thread controlled by one person. I don’t understand why it is so important for some people to respond 100 times. Make a point, reply and then finish unless something truly important comes up necessitating another response.
Btw PSA > Beckett for the simple reason that black labels are unrealistic and PSA normally grades harder on a regular basis for their grades, except for maybe a black label…
I think BGS is great, all though I only own a few BGS graded Pokemon cards. With PSA being more in demand I have stuck with them for me personally sending cards to be graded. If the tide shifts I wouldn’t mind sending to BGS, especially if they can get more consistent grades.
It’s still fun! We just need to learn to celebrate each others collecting decisions. Some people prefer BGS over PSA, and that’s totally fine! Some people prefer PSA, and that’s great as well. When we start demeaning each other because of our personal collecting decisions, that’s a problem.
Can you plz link me to your damaged card collection? BGS is a laughing stock for a grading company until it comes to how they grade their gem mint and pristine cards
I just read this whole thread… there’s about 4 reasonable posts saying both companies have pros and cons and then 4 pages of just nothing but fanboying and trolling lmao. There is no definitive right answer for PSA vs BGS ok happy? Lets go to bed
Let’s keep the insults to a minimum for all members. Reminder of the rules:
1.1. Please do not be overly threatening or abusive towards members. Do not make personal attacks or threatening remarks towards anyone on the site. When discussing a topic use as much fact as possible. Any personal remarks will be evaluated and moderated if necessary.
tbf there’s not much discussion to be had on this topic. Either you prefer BGS or you prefer PSA. I don’t think there’s ever been a single thread about anything in history where the topic was “x is better than y” that ended civilly and had productive discussion
On the thought of topics that get repeated over and over again, has there ever been any thought put into creating an E4 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page?
Might be useful for the purpose of objectively summing up conversations like this and being able to link to it for future people who bring up the question.
