After much thought I have decided to become a Chikorita (evolution line) collector. I have a couple spare ones here and there like the Expedition Meganium and McDonald’s promo (best one IMO) but I want you guys’ opinion on what are some of the better arts for this often-shafted by both Pokemon AND the community starter. I’ve never been a completionist so I just want to get the ones with nice artwork, also, there’s no way there’s less than 20 Chikorita cards in all of the TCG history right? Right guys? Might need to ACTUALLY become a completionist if that’s the case.

You actually made a great point, I had not considered multiple languages, reverse holos, etc… Honestly sounds like a chore. I’m not cut out to be a true completionist so I’ll stick to unique artworks I guess.

I think there’s more than 20 if you include all the variants 
but the chikorita line is a bit sad compared so some others. At least it has some cute sparkly ones!

I LOVE Chikorita, so cute. My friend gave me a Chikorita plush a few years back from a Japan trip, and I may even get the Saiko Soda plush too…
Best card I think is yet to come. I like the intro pack as well as sowsow and Nishida. And the L-P because of the holo and my Johto love, even though it is Sugimori “stock art”

My favourite would be the Champion Road 2000 Chikorita. It’s just the Neo Gen art, but the set symbol has a gold outline (as well as some text at the bottom)

My favorite artist is Atsuko Nishida, but I do not like her rendition of Chikorita.
And while I do not like claymation, stop-motion, or Pokemon clay sculptures all that much, Yuka Morii’s Chikorita is one of my favorite of the species!

Two rare Chikorita cards to look out for are the Japanese unlimited versions of E1 and L1.
I’m also a fan of Chikorita.
