It’s only way off topic because I was replying to the OG original post and months behind where the conversation has gone. And yeah once I saw that I edited the comment to sorta say I feel much more strongly about holding these companies accountable for forgeries. Boomer move on my part not scrolling down and reading first.
Sure, but why hide my comment then?
If no one in the secondary market cares then surely there’s no issue with having everyone know some ink has been wiped off
I don’t think they should hide your comment. I just think they should ignore it and grade authentic, unaltered signatures
But, I also think whoever handles social media for these companies mainly want to keep the comments sections from turning into toxic pitch-fork mobs and they aren’t authorized to answer the comments with any authority to keep things constructive. Ideally they’d place someone with grading/authenticating knowledge in charge of social media but I don’t know how business-beneficial that is. My concern would be that if every post ends up with an argument (as a lot of Beckett, CGC, and PSA posts do), they’ll all opt to just limit comments on their posts and can’t be held accountable for forgeries and such. How to deal with comments is a tough decision with businesses. I know I personally hated when news sites started phasing out comments sections on their articles when a lot of their shoddy reporting was increasingly criticized by their audiences.
this is what i think as well. easier to just say nothing and not make a big deal and hope no one makes a video or thread that reaches thousands of people
When will those kids running social media learn about the Streisand Effect
Im pretty confident instagram hides comments that can be seen as offensive based of specific wording. So it may not be Beckett specifically that manually hid your comment. Yes its an option but instagram also does that. Its happened on my page when I never hide comments ever. My page hid peoples comments who I didnt know and that dont follow me. Even if there are no direct curse words, certain words that arent even bad can trip the response. Its a spam filter. Also, I wouldnt be surprised that beckett doesnt listen or care about customers concerns
Could anyone chime in on how legit this is?
