BCCG discontinued

Hi everyone,

I was recently looking to send a bulk submission to Beckett for BCCG grading due to the fact that it’s a lot of inexpensive cards that are not worth grading with psa or Beckett standard grading.

It turns out that Beckett has discontinued their BCCG grading service and now only offers regular Beckett grading.

I know a lot of collectors hate BCCG graded cards so this is probably good news to a lot of people. I also contacted GMA and they said that they don’t grade Japanese cards.

Is there any other grading service that I can use to get inexpensive Japanese Pokémon cards graded? Or em I stuck selling them as raw cards? I am a card reseller by the way

Thanks

Good, BCCG grades were completely meaningless.

If the marginal benefit of getting them graded isn’t much more than the $7.50/card it takes to have them graded during the PSA Pokemon Special, I’d say you’re better of just selling them raw.

Ditto! No matter where you grade, I don’t think you can beat the special that PSA has going on until the end of this month

if you get the quarterly psa grading special, you basically pay $7 after alllll fees. that’s pretty damn cheap.

I completely agree , I literally asked them if they can just authenticate the cards Instead of grading them and just slabbing them up, they got offended by that lol the same happened when I asked GMA the same question. I was only using them to encapsulate the cards to prevent any further damage. I guess Beckett no longer offering BCCG grading is actually a good thing in the long run.

That’s pretty good I think I will do that with most of the cards and sell the rest in lots or full sets

Thanks everyone

I always felt like this was not positioned correctly for Beckett. Just didn’t make sense to have the highest end and a low end product.

It would have been fine if they would just slab the cards and maybe authenticate them, the grade is what damages the brand. A BCCG 10 can be a Beckett 7 or psa 6, I wonder if the BCCG graders did any actual grading or they just gave the cards a quick glance and slapped a grade on it

Agreed. That was the key issue.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I don’t believe BCCG has been discontinued. I’m seeing 2021/22/23 slabs on the market
