Base set unlimited vs Base set 2

Hi guys, I was wandering which set is best to start with as a new collector? Also for investment purposes.

You should sell you house, car, grandmothers family heirlooms, grandma, your children, your hair, your playstation, even your soul and invest it all in Base Set 2.

But in all seriousness I wouldn’t recommend “investing” in pokemon if you are new. I collected for 2 solid years as an adult before I tried my hand at “investing” and I still felt like a total rookie. About 5 years later and I still learn new things every single day. Just start with what you like and pay attention to what goes up and down in your collection as time goes on and you will learn what is a good investment and what is not.

Base Set 2 gets a lot of bad press, but its got potential, once you reach rock bottom the only way is up!

One reason I would recommend Base set unlimited over base 2 is that base unlimited has several errors (some real cool ones!) within the set to collect compared to base set 2, if you’re into that kind of stuff. But collect both, that’s totally doable, theres alot of each out there. Good luck!
