Drawing a circle with sharpie on the card saver around the copywrite, leave a note that the copywrite date is different, and change the year on the submission to 2000 and see if PSA will add the variant. It probably won’t happen for you, but if multiple people start doing this it might convince PSA to change it.
This is why no rarity is a variant, it took multiple people to send in the cards the same way to get PSA to add it.
I was talking with Ludkins Collectibles the other day regarding the 4th Print label on PSA slabs (edit-not stabs xD)
They are massive senders and have tried for some years that PSA changes the label for cards with 1999-2000 copyright dates. They manage to do it for the booster packs, however, regarding the cards PSA still counter with the “not enough information” answer.
I believe it would be very difficult for PSA to start labeling the 4th print. For many years they have been labeling them with the unlimited base hence there are just to much of mixture in the population. If they started with the 4th print, it wouldn’t be cost effective when people start sending thousands of cards for relabelling, which they would have to do for free (mislabeled).
Again, I would really like them to do it, I would send some straight away, but very very unlikely.
I’m not sure they would relabel the previously labelled cards for free? Does anyone know what Psa did when they started to recognise and label the shadowless base set cards? I was under the impression the owners had to pay to have them relabeled?
People would send as mech errors for relabelling, I believe they have to do it for free.
I don’t know about shadowless, but I think it was @notzeldagilroy who pushed for the labeling of the variant at a time when pokemon didn’t have as big of a footprint as it has now on the grading market. PSA was smaller and maybe their policies were different.
It sucks but I’m not surprised! Technically it wasn’t originally an error on their behalf in terms of their labelling being accurate to their database at that time.
Indeed. I’m spearheading the US operations, including the US grading services. More or less everything that’s made Ludkins EU such a strong, successful brand but in the US this time.
Oh cool. I didn’t even knew they already expanded into the US. I heard rumors they were indeed planning to considering the success here in Europe, but I had no idea that was already set into motion.
How are the submissions so far? A lot, not much yet? Any exceptionally rare or fun-to-see cards so far? (Sorry, just curious.. )
The sestra and i got together like old times of opening base set for late birthday celebration and opened the shit out of 2 base set packs for first time. ME pulled holo. Its gowna be a 10.
