There are 2 up on eBay at around $380.00. Can’t find any recent sold listings and I was wondering if in the neighborhood of $350 - $400 was a fair price. Just seems high to me considering most of the holo rares from this set go for anywhere between $75 and $200 in PSA 10. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I’m no expert at Base 2, but two other classics of the set, blastoise and charizard also fetch a premium, with blastoise being the same price as the raichu almost and charizard of course being much more expensive. However, despite this pricing, the population of raichu psa 10 is less than the other 2, with a pop of 19. Not sure if that affects pricing.
Thanks so much Ditto! Greatly appreciate your response. I didn’t realize the pop was so low on the Raichu, and I can see that factor having an impact on the price. Not to mention he’s one of the set’s heavy hitters popularity-wise. Think I’m gonna and wait and see if one sells soon before making a move. Thanks again!
Base set 2 is so so hard to grade, so combine low pop with low demand, the prices fluctuate greatly just depending on what a buyer is willing to pay at the moment. I mean, I sold a PSA 10 Base Set 2 scyther for $175 almost a year ago and one sold for less than $40 a week or so ago at auction…if you find someone desperate to sell you can get an awesome deal I’m sure.
I wouldn’t pay more than $200 if I were you. Try dealing with the 2 sellers that have one. Show them how much the last copies sold for and that you’re willing to pay a bit of a premium. Good luck.
Thanks guys! I’ll keep my eye on the market, no huge rush. I’m tempted to approach one of the current sellers, but I sincerely doubt they’ll accept my $200 offer haha.
Having sold plenty of base set 2 PSA Cards I feel the opposite…I would be very surprised if one of them didn’t take that offer. Shocked even. I bet neither of them have gotten an offer at even $150
Yeah but we’re talking Shadowless level kind of scarce on some of these holos like Chansey, Clefairy, Clefable, Raichu and a few others. Sellers have the upperhand… No it’s not worth $350+ because Base 2 is not too popular, but I wouldn’t be too quick to assume they’ll insta accept $200.
Nvm all that. Good job, Op.
