Changelog (dd/MM): 22/05/2026, initial post
Placeholder
Hello, and welcome to my Gardevoir collection thread ! ![]()
For future updates, I will post new messages with the new arrivals, and they will also be added to the section 2 on this message.
Section 1, 3, 4 and 5 will be updated as needed.
1. How I Collect (as of 05/2026)
Since every collection is unique, here are my criterias for the collection.
-
TCG:
- As a french person I decided to focus on every release of the french language for the core of the collection, from which I take every variants of a card : Classic, Holos, Reverses, Stamps.
- To this, I add cards from other languages only if there is either an artwork or a variant that is not available in french. (If the said variant exists in multiple other langages, Japanese is prefered, followed by English)
Note: I am not interested in grading or having perfect cards in the binder. As long as its not completely wasted its enough for me, I dont mind having card that looks to have been played, it can even give them some value in my opinion.
-
Non-TCG:
- I focus on products that are official, wether produced by the pokemon company or via a partnership.
- I search exhaustivity on products that are linked to the TCG (boosters, sleeves, coins), and around the size of a card for those not linked to the TCG (stickers, other cards)
- For other products (plushes, pins, figures…), I welcome them with pleasure if they cross my path, but I am not especially searching for them.
2. The Collection:
Temporary note: Initially wanted to put this under a “hide details” section like the others, but just found out that Slideshow galleries are not showing if nested in this. So for now it will be a regular thing with a title.(I warned a moderator in private just in case)
Here is the link to my excel sheet which helps me to keep track of the collection.
I initially set up some buttons in the Non-TCG page to allow you to navigate the section faster, but just realized that it does not work for read-only users ![]()
(Also dont look at the other sheets past Gardevoir ones, its not up to date and not interesting currently)
PokeCollec - Google Sheet
- TCG:
I put some placeholder with black sleeves for TCG. At first I thought that I would just add the missing cards via copy pasting the photo on paint, but if it turns out to be too ugly I will just re-do the whole pics every now and then.
- Non-TCG:
3. Missing Items:
Temporary note: Initially wanted to put this under a “hide details” section like the others, but just found out that Slideshow galleries are not showing if nested in this. So for now it will be a regular thing with a title. (I warned a moderator in private just in case)
Here are the details of the items that I have searched but not found yet. (Dont hesitate to direct message me if you want to trade/sell/have any hint on some !)
- TCG:
I think I have everything in sight, just need to buy them now !
Except one, probably the rarest of them all if it exists:
- 408 SM-P - 2019 Jumbo (JP) - Based on Bulbapedia’s Unnumbered promo cards, it was an illustration Grand Prix Winner were “One overall winner received ¥300,000, a trophy featuring their name and winning illustration, and had their artwork featured on an oversized TCG card”. Thats the only info I could get, dont have a pic to confirm 100% as this could still be a mistranslation from the redactors, given that the card effectively got released in a regular sized format.

4. Possible Evolutions
Here are the few points Im currently thinking of to extend the collection further (but still behind an all languages master set)
- Getting the main series stamped cards for all langages. I just noticed that these are translated as well, and if the stamp is different then it fits the current criteria.
For exemple, “Ex Emerald” is “Ex Smeraldo” in Italian:
-
Getting the manga-like cards were there is either latin characters for the japanese langage and japanese characters for the other langages. Its kind of an edge case but since there is only 2 versions for each I might also go for it.
Added since the time of redacting, there is 6 cards concerned in total (sadly 3 of them are overpriced so it will be for my next mercari batch in a few months). -
I noticed some cards have a different border color in other langage, sometimes yellow, sometimes grey, holo grey…dont know yet if I will got for it, I have yet to check if that adds a lot of cards or not.
-
Looking at all your beautiful collections, it gave me the idea to try to get one model of a card in every languages, would be fun to do.
So I have to find one that exists in: Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Latin American Spanish (EV09+), Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese (Oct 23), Traditional Chinese, Russian (XY - XY Breakpoint), Polish (Diamond & Pearl and Mysterious Treasures), Thai (Feb 2019) and Indonesian (May 2019).
Dutch is Base, Jungle and Fossil, as well as a few WotC promos, too old so its excluded (thanks @Quuador for these infos you put on a random reddit)
But I dont know yet if one card exist in all of these, maybe I will have to mix multiple cards. -
I am also aware of a few cards in japanese that got out in special decks called “Expansion Pack” (ADV Era), “World Champion Pack” (Diamond and Pearl Era), “Extra Regulation Box” (Sun and Moon Era), and “Imprison! Gardevoir ex Constructed Standard Deck” (PCG Era).
I actually dont want to add them because only the ID number on the bottom left and sometimes the logo on the bottom right are changing compared to the main series cards.
Accepting these based only on these criterias would open the door to collecting all japanese cards, since these also differ by their bottom informations.
Maybe one criteria could be to accept it only if it is part of a special serie, but then I should also collect special decks from international and chinese series otherwise it is not coherent, we will see later. -
Just found out that article, thats so cool Im taking a note for the future as well

5. Fun Facts and Rarities
-
141/214 cosmos holo has a perfectly placed swirl
-
With my lighting setup for the pics on section 2, there was no way to see the reverse pattern of the 069/195 japanese. So here it is in a special angle:
-
About RC10/RC25, I know there is supposed to only be one variant and in english, but upon inspecting my card in EVERY possible angle and different lights, I could not find the little cosmos dots that were supposed to be everywhere on the card. It was not looking fake or anything, but I was troubled nonetheless. So I bought another one, and suddenly I could see the dots on both cards. Glad to be blind.
-
Most expansive are 178/132 and 187/132 from ME01, considering that I went crazy and opened 2 full display to got none of them. Never again.
-
First one I bought is 070/073 for 5.5 euros on april 2021 <3
6. My Story with Collecting
(Feel free to skip cause I speak a lot here)
When I was a child, I always played pokemon cards with friends at school. I was also in video games early, and I played every pokemon games since diamond and pearl in which I discovered the mighty Gardevoir (but lately in the switch era, I skipped “Lets go”, “Legends of arceus” and “Z-A”, having a hard time to love the 3D as much as I did on 2D).
Battle were wons, battle were losts, gifts and christmas presents were made, cards were wasted to the washing machine; I entered adulthood with a lot of good memories and quite a few cards in my pockets.
When I had to decorate my first geek shelf on april 2021, I stumbled upon a beautiful gardevoir card (Gardevoir V 070/073) out of a random search on google. I thought why not exposing 1 or 2 cards on the shelf, it could be a good idea right ? A few years passed and I had my first salary. Searching what to do with all this money, I looked at my card on the shelf and it hit me : lets start a collection !
Since then, the collection never stopped evolving.
After days of passionate researches, reading forums, slowly gathering all the cards month after month, I eventually had all the variants of the french series. I also started similar collections for my other favorite pokemons (though they are currently in standby in favor of gardevoir since the multiple extension ideas I found).
Then I discovered by pure chance a japanese card that had an artwork I had never seen (Gardevoir 408/SM-P). So I extended the collection to other languages if they had unique artwork.
Once it was done, I was already too far gone and I couldnt stop. So I extended the collection to other langages if they had different variants.
It was at this moment that I discovered Non-TCG product and this forum a few months ago, so I extended the collection again (I also created the google sheets thanks to seeing others do it in there collections. I dont know why I did not think of it sooner, this is a far more convenient solution than paper lol).
And here we are today. Given its changing nature, I cant guarantee that the collection will stay in this form forever. However I feel like this is close to the max, more than ever. Gathering every non-tcg products that ever existed, or every tcg langages in a master set seems an impossible task to me. I can feel that I would loose the fun from it, but who knows.
7. Resources
Since without them, I would have never been able to complete the collection, I would like to mention my main resources.
-
TCG:
- Coleka
- Pokecardex
- Bulbapedia
-
Non-TCG:
- Multiples identification threads on the fourum, first the index ( The Index of Elite Fourum Articles ) to which I add @orannge’s ( Orannge's identification thread ) and @sableguy’s ( Sableguy Non-TCG Identifications ) ones.
- Looking at the countless result pages on mercari japan after searching “サーナイト”, “サーナイト ステッカー”…etc
- More specific sources are available in my google sheet below
8. Pokemon name/design origin
Some people might think we collect gardevoir for the wrong reasons… but take a look at the name/design’s origin, its just so classy in every aspects:

And voilà !
Thanks for passing by and feel free to suggest me other ways of emptying my wallet, or if you think I missed some cards ! (especially for cameos/uncommon stamps were im not sure to be exhaustive).
Bye~~
