I ordered a pretty expensive gold star and it was supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It randomly showed on tracking that it’s at one of the post offices and all it says is available for pickup. Has anyone had this happen before? How do I find out where to pick it up? Thanks.
Often means first and/or second delivery to your door was not successful. Most of the time I get a note saying where to pick it up. If you didn’t get any you can contact the postal service that tried to deliver the package and they can probably tell you where it is. Hope this helps, good luck!
It usually happens when I buy expensive cards, but usually they leave a note on the door if I’m not home to reschedule or pick up. I have 2 post offices in my town but it’s usually at the bigger one, just go ask for it and they will let you know.
Here in The Netherlands that happens pretty often. Tracking code states it’s ‘delivered’, but I haven’t received anything yet. On closer inspection, it’s usually delivered at the local post office ready for pickup. It usually also means I have to pay import fees when going to pick it up, otherwise they would have delivered it at the door with optional signature on arrival…
The actual note I receive that it’s ready to pick up usually comes 3 days later, when I’ve already picked up the package in most cases.
Doesn’t the tracking code state at which post office it is? In which case you can probably pick it up from that location. At least, that’s what it usually is for me. But not sure where you live and how your local post offices are doing their business.

Here in Finland I would get a paper in my mailbox a day after telling that I have registered mail to pick up and it would have the address of the post office where it’s been delivered to.
(or an app would tell me because I have an app that shows me my tracked mail automatically and I get notifications when they are delivered or available to pick up from post office, but they still leave that paper to my mailbox too)
No there was never an attempted delivery.
There was no attempted delivery. As soon as it got to my local post office it showed as available for pick up.
My guess would either have to be that you need to pay some sort of fee on the package. Whether it be unpaid postage or custom fees. Either way I’d rather have my expensive package safe at the post office rather than sitting in my mail box. I’d just go and pick it up to see what happens.
Yea thanks man and I appreciate everyone else too. I’ll figure it out.
