Hello everyone! It’s me again, Kob from TCG Collector
I bring you something interesting a user brought to us as missing variants from our database. I was wondering if these cards are real or not, as although all the normal pointers that I go by (colors, font, back) seem alright, the variants themselves are weird in nature - which keeps me wondering if these may be Italian language exclusive cards.
I can’t find any Holo Fletchling online - but the card looks real to me! Why would they print a random Flecthling from a Starter Set with an holographic layer?
The Dragons Exalted reverse holo pattern presents itself as in the Manetric, with energy specific patterns along the card, but the user has 3 other cards that present a Mirror Reverse Holo pattern!
Thank you to @exiliart on Discord for helping solve the Mirror Reverse Holo part of this mistery! Apparently they were available in packs from chocolate Easter Eggs
Some more info regarding these:
And the official press release from the company that produced them available in the Wayback machine:
Official release date for this seems to be March 24, 2013.
Hi!
Great find!
I did some research, and I think your Fletchling came from the same operation, but the following year (Pasqua Pokémon con le uova Bauli 2014), if I believe this video where we see matching Holo cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUoHbk_LIKk
We go crazy in Italy for chocolate eggs, the trend now is to weigh them on the scales in the fruit and vegetables aisle to know which surprise you’ll get ahahahahaha
Although it is plausible German had similar 3-card packs containing holo variants, I think you’re indeed right that those are errors. I’ve seen these type of errors before in various languages.
Here an English example, that was coincidentally posted yesterday as part of @qwachansey’s error contest:
