Hi guys,
I got these in a collection I bought and would like to know their origin. Tried a few google searches but couldn’t find anything. Does anyone have any info on them?

@kaldoverde, No real idea, BUT my guess would be it is a league hand out or a freebie for attending an event? I doubt it came in a deck or official release of cards.
Can anyone verify?
@joer, yeah, the dates on it are a bit weird as well “1995, 96 and 98 Nintendo”. I also assume they must have been handed either as a way to promote the launch of Pokemon TCG or at some kind of event.
Would really love to find out the story behind it though. Maybe I should send the pictures to WoTC and ask them. 
Could very well be self made/produced items by a random person.

Are you gonna wear it around proudly or keep it sealed?
Also… there is a picture dump on this forum somewhere I believe, of old photos of various early pokemon things. You could go through that and see if you can spot anyone wearing one. Getting up with wotc is a good idea though, hopefully you’ll have luck with that route if you take it!
I’d be super surprised if WOTC responds, but it’s worth a try.

There is absolutely 0 chance any current wotc employee will give Pokémon advice/information. Don’t waste your time.

Have 3 of them, so will keep them sealed for now. I might wear one proudly if I attend Worlds this year. 
Well, seems like pokevault had one at some point, but the description is quite cryptic:
“This tin badge was made by Wizards of the Coast back in 1998. It was never sold at the Pokemon Center, toy stores, or anyplace else.”
They say where it wasn’t sold, but not how it was obtained, lol.
