Very true, he did say it would be 3rd party insured and sent with best mailing possible. And he would record it being packed etc for me. But the 1st concern is still there.
Yea I considered opening it, however if for some reason I did want to let go of it in the future instead of opening it (unlikely but still) it loses most its value i believe. Again unlikely but sucks forfitting that.
Does anyone know the frequency these boxes from decent sources are fake nowadays? I heard its bad… but whats bad? 1%? 10%?
Z & G has a box available for a little bit less than $27k. He’s on E4, very trustworthy and has been handling WOTC boxes for years, so I would personally prefer his box over tcg collector’s.
Can you link me to him? Tried to find a thread from him but not the most familiar with this forum layout yet I did commit to TCG.Collector now though so i’ll first play that out.
Not only would the fee itself not be $2k (it’s actually $806.69 - they’re trying to scam you out of almost $1.2k), this is in breach of PayPal’s User Agreement under the No Surcharges section:
As advice for anyone who sells things online using PayPal: if you aren’t prepared to cover the fee yourself you can simply include the fee as part of the original purchase price. Instead of listing for $27,000 they should list for $27,806.69 to include the fee.
Honestly, the fact that they’ve already tried to pull a fast one by claiming the fee will be $2k would be enough for me to report them to PayPal to get their account locked. That’s your call to make though.
It sounds like the fact that you plan on opening it a year from now is the biggest issue
If you know for sure you will open it at some point in time, it makes sense to buy one now (with protection), and open it to confirm the contents. Maybe open one pack and put the rest away for when you’re ready to open the complete box
Last I heard he was in the UK, but you’re saying he’s in Arizona? Is that where he’s saying the box ships from, or where he himself is actually located? Seems like a lot of the posts lately he has on his IG give the impression he is just middle-manning boxes and doesn’t actually have them in his possession. If you were to deal with him, that is something you should verify up front.
His bank transfer details are in Arizona. He says his name is Andrew S******n (Astrixing out just for his privacy). I feel a bit odd hearing from so many that the owner was different previously.
He also mentioned he does get the box in, once it’s in sends a video of the box (he did do this for me) and then requests payment and then sends it with tracking & third party insurance on it.
Maybe the account has sold recently then, I know 4-6 months ago the owner was in the UK. Back then he just requested a flat rate for a post whether you were looking to buy, or looking to sell. Apparently recently (guessing the new owner) is now asking for a percentage of your listing/willing to pay price, which has turned a lot of people off from using the service.
Last time I talked to him he lived in france. So the owner has changed atleast twice. So even tho the page is same we dont know the guy behind the page anymore
