Anyone collect Legos?

It’s all just capitalism mate.

Exact same thing happening with Pokémon doing it’s groundhog day reset formula since 1999.

That falcon looks great in that display case!

This thread is awesome, didn’t expect to find it here.
So i grew up (and my Dad and brothers still live) about 500 yards from the US Headquarters of LEGO, which is super randomly located in Connecticut. Grew up getting tons of sets for birthdays and christmas, had family friends and relatives who were employees. My younger brother has actually been an intern/employee with them for the past couple years while he goes through college.

We all collect LEGO. I have nearly complete theme collections from the 90s and early 2000s including Adventurers Egypt & Amazon, Ninja, Rock Raiders, Insectoids, UFO, and a few castle/pirate sets. We also had a few older star wars sets and I gave my brother our complete Harry Potter collection of the early theme collections - sets from a Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. He also has tons of Technic sets like Bionicle and Star Wars Droids.

Both my younger brothers have in recent years gotten really into the City theme and the LEGO Ideas collection, which has some truly incredible sets.

I could go on. Needless to say I’m part of a family of long-standing LEGO nuts. Thanks for posting such a cool thread

I’m too young to have had an atari as a kid, but im sure there are some in here that have some nostalgia for it.

It actually has a little scene of someone playing the system. Really cool!

I tend to dabble in LEGO as well. When a set is visually appealing to me I’ll probably just buy it and it’s been happening a lot lately. Optimus Prime, the Botanical Collection, the DeLorean from BttF, the Tallneck from Horizon Forbidden West etc…

I also pick up every single release from the “Lunar New Year” and “Monkie Kid” lines because they really stand out to me thematically and are very good bang for the buck because they’re not licensed themes.

And finally as a tie-in to our favorite little critters I’m also in the progress of recreating some of the MOCs made by YouTuber Brickmill Studios. In particular his Regi line spoke to me, but he already has over 30 very well-made Pokémon MOCs so be sure to check them out for yourselves. Here are some snaps from the Regi line:

Looks like Lego is doing a variety of different Advent calendar sets this year! (Pokemon is doing one for the first time since DPP) :eyes:
Will update when pics of the others are up. Seems the Lego site doesnt have em all yet

Christmas Tree! I love how you can have the classic fire death trap version with candles…

Lego is killing it right now! All of those advent calendars are quality!

I’ve been counting down the days for the Castle to drop. I think it drops Aug 3 for VIP members. :european_castle:

Yup August 3rd. I wonder if it will quickly sell out. The nostalgia factor is off the charts but it’s definitely pricey.

I managed to get one last night as well. The Home Alone set caught my eye as well so I might have to pick that one up later. The funning thing was I didn’t have a VIP account, but it still let me add it to my cart and checkout. I did however sign up after the fact so I could get those sweet sweet Lego points.

The home alone set is great! Cool little features that capture moments from the movie.

Legos has been so cool lately. I really wanna collect/buy some of the new stuff but I say to myself, “you can’t do Pokemon and Lego”.

Gosh. I’ve always dreamed of owning this piece of the Death Star below. Also, there is a Cloud City one that was an online exclusive and appears to be pretty rare.

Wait a minute, some of the vintage Alpha Team sets look pretty affordable. Uh oh, this is how it starts…

Cloud City Boba is one of the most expensive set mini figs out there. I have the much cheaper, but still cool Boba from one of the early Slave I sets.

The Rebels sets are surprisingly expensive, mainly because Rebels wasn’t that popular at release, similar to some pokmeon sets

Lots of parallels between hobbies it seems

When was Rebels released?

2014-2017 according to this. The Ghost set is one of the most expensive of the bunch, mainly because of the minifigs.
