“I’m gonna have be home to sign for it, otherwise I’ll be completely screwed and it will be hours of of my life over the span of days attempting to obtain this thing, with no ability to talk to someone about obtaining some degree of agency in this ordeal, right?”
I don’t have a wonderful picture story like PFM, but a few weeks again FedEx was insisting that customs forms were needed for a package from Japan. What’s worse was the forms they demands were for declaration of unaccompanied goods. This claims that I must of lived abroad in japan and moved back to the USA. The form had blanks for my address abroad my reason for the move etc. It took about a week of pestering for them to finally agree I was a USA citizen and release my damn package
Yeah we have a “Penguin Pickup” like a 1 minute walk from where I live but the FedEx customer agent said on the phone they couldn’t do that either and did not give a very clear reason why. She made it sound like it was because they already did 2 delivery attempts.
They restrict managed deliveries, which means you can’t schedule a pickup at a nearby location. Why would eBay Vault do this? It’s definitely the safest way to ship the package.
When I reached out to FedEX, they said that eBay Vault would have to change the settings. When I reached out to eBay Vault, they said that they had no control and that it was a default by their insurer/shipping department. But I believe PSA is buying eBay Vault’s shipping labels, and managing deliveries through FedEX for PSA packages has always been an option.
Hopefully this all gets resolved when PSA Vault takes over.
Hearing stories like this, I’m kinda getting post-stress since my 150k USD PSA-10 EBD promos were shipped with FedEx to China. Thank God without any problems, and it arrived in just five days… Although I have the feeling FedEx in Europe/Asia is way better than in America, but I could be mistaken.
Somehow it is, specially in the Netherlands, they are actually really good and their tracking is well updated compared to the ones above. Maybe I don’t do enough volume compared to many others here, so I maybe be a cherry pick case.
Also, I feel like after praising the services so much, it will be time where I also experience their worst.
I’ve probably posted in this thread before, but I always feel it bears repeating: commercial fedex service in the US sucks absolute ass and I do everything in my power not to use them. I even go out of the way to avoid buying stuff online if it’s being shipped fedex.
ebay uses there own shipping account with fedex so you won’t be able to redirect packages etc b/c it is locked down essentially. one time someone insisted i use fedex and even paid extra for it then they had a hard time getting the package coz they were never home during the day…
