4 Nations Face-Off tournament

Let us know your prediction about the winner and how do you generally speaking feel about premium tournament with only 4 participants?

I had to doublecheck what happened with previous World Cups and those had 8 teams, still rare treat ahead of us since these events happen so unfrequently. It’s gonna be one hectic year for hockey fans, 12 months ahead and we are already witnessing 2026 Milano Cortina.

3rd period in Finland vs USA starting to look really ugly…

Nice to see Sweden managed to grab at least one point from Canada!

This game is PHENOMENAL

Sucks to see Finland didn’t reach top 2 after three games, timing of injuries for certain key defenders could’ve not been any worse.

Finals between USA and Canada sounds like another classic as 2010 Vancouver Olympics, even better if match begins without any planned fights.

Congratulations to Canada, really tight game! I was hoping so much USA could’ve ended almost 30 year long dry streak.

One of the most exciting things during tournament was announcement another World Cup will be held in 2028 already and possibly every 4 years after that.

I think this was a bit better than the All-Star Game.

Growing up & playing hockey in Canada, I found this tournament got much better as time went on. Almost wish it went another week after the final last night. Seems like the teams were just starting to get used to playing with one another the past couple games, and last night was very close overall.

I think Canada almost had too much offensive skill on some of the lines, and not enough defense or ‘toughness’. Cale Makar for example is amazing at what he does as a defense man (damn near like having an extra forward on your team), but I don’t know if he was always the right guy to play against the hard hitting US lines. They really tried hard to get him off his game (Tkachuk brothers, etc), but he kept it together well.

Canada’s goalie also pulled off some miracles both in the final and previous games. Guy should have gotten MVP or whatever award was in place. I’m glad the coach recognized him at the end and gave him a hug at least.

It was nice to see McDavid get the winner as well, he was due for some of the glory that Crosby has always gotten. Also, Mackinnon was insanely good all through the tournament. I grew up in the same area as Crosby & Mackinnon, so cool to see them all on the same team at this level.

Anyway, it was a great game overall. It was either teams game to win to me, and the US is getting way better at hockey than ever before in my eyes watching it 25+ years now :ice_hockey:.

This was 2 hours before puck drop USA vs SWE, it was totally packed but also ice cold and windy in Boston that day. Also surreal to see a CardVault store right next to TD Garden!
