Not “someone’s” misfortune. We’re cheering for Collectible Gruru’s misfortune.

I don’t think we should be degrading people’s looks, lets keep it mature at least guys!

Have they ever opened the briefcase and showed the money? I have a feeling this was all staged and they knew it was a fake box…

Funniest part is, they have been saying that this box opening will be huge and the biggest event ever, but they have no views compared to LP‘s box opening

This is mostly caused due to the absolutely clown-like behaviour of one of the so called „experts“ in the video…

Could not agree more. Regardless of the person, cyber bullying is real problem.

there are fakes that are fooling experienced collectors. An average buyer won’t be able to tell the difference or have an “expert” available. Seems like you can’t verify a box 100% even if it has a wotc seal besides opening it now? How is this going to affect the market and consumer confidence?

Cyberbullying? You guys have to be kidding.
This dude is putting himself out there as an ‘expert’, while simultaneously mocking real passionate collectors who are NOT only in for the money like he is.
In the process he didn’t only make a fool out of himself but also shed a bad light on this hobby I truly and dearly love.

He had it coming and doesn’t deserve your compassion.

I don’t feel sorry for anyone flexing at Instagram with a gold watch and a €100k sports car like this guru guy.

Agree to disagree. The hate for this man is too much. So to stoop down and spread hate is the answer? If you want to blame the “expert” then blame the celebrities and high end buyers that choose their “experts”. You can easily come into this community and find out who the “experts” are. Unfortunately Pokemon isn’t bringing passionate collectors in anymore with items in the hundreds of thousands. It’s about making a buck now.

everyone always says in every thread like this “they should get gary sam or z or some other expert”

but um - would they even do it? i haven’t see any of them sayin “i would have flown to texas to help”…

maybe its not an option.

Looking at the video again and this all just smells like a set up. Pretend to pay $375k for a box which just happens to be fake, but hang on we have another coming tomorrow. Seems like they’re just trying to manipulate the price of the box

Normally I’d agree however if you read ANY of his posts and comments on his posts he’s the biggest bully of them all. This feels very much like karma. Just read his comments in this post (just one of hundreds of similar posts) where he says he’s done more for pokemon than nintendo has, that he was going to send goons to the sellers address, and that everyone who told him the box was fake are haters and pussies. He’s a class act

Not disagreeing with you at all, could have been handled more professionally but I will say when you’re constantly in the defense, what do you expect.

He also signed up here a couple months ago…called everyone losers for being collectors and actually liking the cards and not making money like him and got banned within an hour.

Copy, I was not aware of that. I’m not going to talk about it anymore and bring attention to the subject. Hopefully we get to see a legit 1st edition box break in the near future!

It is. His first comment when the box was opened was “Let’s remove the first couple of packs and see how we do.”
He keeps changing his story about already getting refunded and “Hopefully tomorrow”. I believe it’s all for manipulate the price of the 1st edition booster box as well.

Is it the same box Logan Paul gave him?

Edit: @ 49:12 the asian guy (Z?) starts to give a story that their seller deals with middle men and it could have been resealed by them. This contradicts the GC story @ 24:00 that their seller has had these boxes stored in a gun safe since he was a kid.

This may currently be true, but I doubt that it will remain true. There are absolutely ways to authenticate a box with near 100% accuracy. These methods just haven’t yet been developed. The experts that we currently have are using very basic authentication methods.

These were items that were uniformly mass produced 20+ years ago. It’s impossible to replace/alter the contents in a way that is entirely undetectable. It may require highly sophisticated authentication methods that your average person doesn’t have the resources to perform, but there ARE ways to accurately authenticate these boxes that we just haven’t yet developed/refined.
