2023 World's TCG Last Chance Qualifiers

Silly question, but a person from my lgs says that pokemon runs a mini tournament before worlds to let people play for a spot in worlds. The only thing I’ve found related to this is a link to last year’s pokemon GO and unite last chance qualifiers: https://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/worlds/2022/faq/

Is this a thing for the tcg? I’d love to play in it if so, Im not expecting to place or anything but I imagine it would be a fun experience anyways.

It used to be a thing for the TCG but hasn’t been for a while

Dang, any reason why they do it for some events and not others?

usually a LCQ would be if the number of participants is low and they’re trying to increase attendance. its been a while since that was an issue.

Makes sense, thanks for clearing that up!
