So apparently a PSA 10 just sold for 1000 US on ebay. Considering how low this card has traditionally went for, do you think this a one off or sign of rising price/desriabilty? To my knowledge they have always been one of the least wanted trophy cards but I personally think it has a great artwork. Thoughts?
Cards like these do not have an exact price point, it really is how much someone is willing to pay at the end of the day and whether there is a seller for that price. This is the same as prize cards, battle roads and trophies. One day it might sell for $100 and another day for $1000. Cards like your PSA 9 base set Charizard have a somewhat definitive range where buyers are not willing to go beyond the range and sellers are not willing to go below the range most of the time. Hence having a fixed price point. Just comes to show how emotional this market is.
I agree with this alot.
If you see these or cards like it for $100 let me know n ill kiss u
I think it’s both. PSA 10 is notably rare for victory ring cards, but victory rings in general has been rather common, from my previous experience. In raw form, the prices were much lower in the past year and a half. It was the easiest card for me to get in the Japanese trophy series, aside from mysterious pearl.
However, it might just be a market thing…we’ll have to see when the next one gets listed!
The card never had much movement. However it is actually rare, so it only takes a bit of interest to create movement. This can be true for pretty much anything with less than 500 copies released.
117/PCG is a prime example
