Hi all, cuious…did WOTC/Nintendo make STAFF cards or promos for the 2002 Championship (first and only held) and Nintendo 2003 worlds etc… or at least a promo card something stamped?
Cannot find anything on this for 2002-2003 .Can someone clarify what cards do exist to honor the occasion.

Hello, based on this announcement article it does not seem like there was any promos or STAFF cards released, atleast for the 2002 event. Due to some scheduling conflicts, the players from Japan could not travel so the event was kind of exclusive to North America.
I am probably guessing that the scale and structure of the tournaments / World events were smaller to warrant STAFF promos (the stamped kind). If you see in the article, the Pikachu World collection was one of the exclusive prizes if you were in top 32. So that is somewhat of a special set of cards given for the event.

Sorry, I don’t want to give you any misinformation. I am just assuming a lot of things at this point based on the article that I cited above.
The only Pikachu world collection released at the time of this event or rather 2 years prior was the Pikachu World Collection commemorating the Sydney Olympic event held in the year 2000. Considering the timeline of this event held in 2002, I am assuming that this is the collection that is being mentioned.
So I am guessing the ones you usually see on the buy / sell are also the ones in the list of prizes and not something rare or unique. If you look at the prize list only the limited edition Plaque and the carrying case seem to be something very exclusive and limited to the top winners. The rest just are standard products releases at that time.
