I have many 2000 or so of these - probably more. All are in retail packaging, but they do not sell well in my store or even an conventions. Anyone have a good idea of what can be done with them? They seem really nice to just be sitting in boxes.
Add the price that you charge for them or what you paid for them to big listings and add them as a gift… No one will notice for 1$ or 2$ (I don’t know what are you charging for them) and they will appreciate the “freebie” xD
This is a pretty good idea or at conventions if you have a info pack or something you give out just drop one in there. Im not sure how much you’ve spent on these but I know in japanese coventions girls love buying pins.
I have found conventions to be a bust for me with pins as everything I have is real. All the little places around me have counterfeit product (3 for $1), and it is hard to compete with that.
I always find it amazing how many retail stores in high end locations sell fake or “unbranded” plushes. With ebay again allowing all these “flash” holo cards that further hurts the market. If I was a crook, I could make a million selling bootleg plushes. I am sure many of you have seen those giant plush lots of ebay. I ran the numbers of one of them where the guy was asking $19k. He had nearly $1 million in retail plushes - if they had not been counterfeit. Of course whoever snagged it will be selling them as “Pokemon”
I used wrong wording girls in Japan that go to Anime conventions love them. Even here at an Australian con there were japanese girls walking around trying to trade pins. The problem is that it’s not really a thing in western nerd culture.
If counterfeit products are a big issue than I don’t really have a solution, it sucks that it happens. My local convention’s trader hall is basically Pokemon only. One of the traders has stated selling repacks which really annoy me.
