@charizandrew, It’s totally fine for me to put the picture into my album in game and then take a picture of it, right? That way I can choose from a bunch of my photos which one I like best. Also keeps my high score score in the pkmn report. I’m literally taking dozens of photos and trying to eliminate the ones I do not like from the album.
I want to bump this one more time, hopefully this is okay by the mods.
We have great submissions so far. I’m hoping a few more trickle in. Please message me if you plan to participate, but haven’t submitted yet. I was planning on closing the submissions at the end of the month, but can keep it open a little longer if anyone needs time.
Feel free to reach out with any technical difficulties and I’ll do my best to troubleshoot with you.
I’ll be submitting by months end (barely)
. Went to play last night and found my save file was not what I thought it was as it had been reset.
2 hours played later and I got everything unlocked so the next rainy night I’ll be getting my entry. Have a couple target ideas just need to see what I end up getting the best photo for.
I will be submitting tomorrow I think. I put several hours in over the last couple days and I have several candidates, but I think I have a real winner incoming lol
I plan to submit probably tonight or tomorrow depending on if I can remember how to get the awesome photos haha! Don’t really wanna look up how to get them, takes the fun out of it. Thanks for the sweet idea too, I’ve been looking for a reason to play this again!
I’m really looking forward to the final round-up! I enjoyed the most amazing retro vibe when I was replaying this game and looking for a unique photo. Pokémon Snap has to be one of the best rail shooters ever made. Gotta snap 'em all!
I continue to have issues. If I check the album, it crashes. If I save favorites, it crashes. At certain times, the screen freezes but the sounds and controls still operate (or at least they sound like they do), but I can’t see anything but the frozen screen.
I might call it quits. I only got up to the second level.
@azulryu, I’m sorry about this, it seems many people have had some technical difficulties. If you have time tomorrow maybe I can try to help troubleshoot. There’s also a way to unlock all levels if you want to skip to a particular one.
I was having similar issues. My computer is not the best, so here are a few things I tried.
Make sure the computer is plugged in. I guess that relieves a lot of load from the computer and so the games frame rate stabilizes and doesn’t lag anymore.
I went into the gallery from the main menu, before entering my file file. In there I was able to look at my photos and organize them. It won’t have the points listed or anything, but you will be able to choose photos and get the “Prt Sc” of the one you want to submit.
For some reason after I went into this gallery, I was able to access the “Pkmn Report” not sure if there is a connection between the two, but it worked.
Some levels had too much happening and froze the game for me, like when you drop the geodudes in order to take a photo of graveler, then sandslash pops up. The game immediately did what you described where sounds still happen, but controls and screen died. So maybe avoiding high graphical output is best if possible.
I saw Charizandrew mention about the cheat code to unlock every level, I’m assuming you tried that as well as the other things he mentioned for settings in the original post for this?
I hope this helps even a little, this is just the troubleshooting I did in my game till it worked. Probably pretty obvious as well, but patience it a virtue here too it seemed. give the game thinking time. I hope this didn’t sound too patronizing. Best of luck, I’m looking forward to seeing your submission!
If the screen freezes (#4), go to options → Configure graphics plugin and change Windowed resolution (don’t use full screen). This will change the size of the window and I noticed this helped “unfreeze” the screen. It’s not perfect, the screen can still freeze again but just change the size again and hopefully you can at least get through the level. I also got the feeling that it was less prone to freezing if I used a smaller window, but not sure
