Yugioh collectors

I’ll look into it, I already picked up a 9

Hi guys, I require a sanity check on this euro print Metal Raiders box. It all looks good to me but please leave your thoughts. Thanks.

@way2slowbro, I am not too familiar with Euro print boxes pre zexal but I do know that the open ovals on the sides is a staple of euro print. I would imagine its hard to reseal those side seals so I would say that you are safe.

I have been buying old sealed product off of ebay since 2012 and I have never had a problem of a reseal. Everything i have seen in the past online as resealed or fake has been LOB 1st ed. The others are still cheap enough that it is hard to see there being tons of resealed boxes out there right now.

If I recall correctly, the lob fakes were all wavy boxes correct?

I honestly have no clue.

Appreciate the insight, I have heard lots of bad things about reseals. I have 5ds boxes but always jittery about pre-Konami stamped boxes, hopefully done enough due diligence to be be a safe purchase. Any signs when I have the box in hands to determine suspect seals?

Goat format collector here. Still trying to figure out how to afford TFK sinister serpents.

I dont think there has been any good reseals on konami logo’d boxes so I dont have issues there.
It’s not that easy to explain over text. A big factor for me is feel which obviously you can do till it’s in hand. Rudy actually made a video about what to look for on fake boxes.

Swinging for the fences there. I’ve always just been a fan of the SDD ones. Really like the foiling on that and the feather duster. So much so that I sold my TP8 duster instead for what it was going for at the time…$80. Yeah I sold too early there but at least I still made a 1000% return on that duster.

I confirm, those fakes are only 1st edition LOB wavy. Obviously all other boxes can still be resealed.

My friend has the GBA god cards and refuses to sell because he doesn’t think they are much worth lol

@aureliansoul , the question is rather, should he sell now or later? The GBI Secret Rare God cards have had an 750% growth since last November, and they are among the most iconic cards in the hobby. Yugioh is also a few years behind Pokemon in terms of progression, so the full potential of these cards might not be seen for a few more years.

Since fake boxes are a topic in this thread, has anyone seen Ruxin34’s video of his Dark Duel Stories fake/resealed/error game?

For those who don’t know, the limited edition of the Dark Duel Stories video game contains one of the most valuable cards in the hobby, the dds-001 Blue-Eyes White Dragon. However, his video game box didn’t contain the cards despite looking legit. As someone who bought a sealed copy a year ago before prices went up, I’m very worried that I’ve got a dud as well…

Oooo. Thanks for the response. Yeah I don’t think he knows much about the value which is funny. He’s also the typical friend who checked his basement this summer and found his first edition new discovery set in mint condition not really thinking it was cool lmfao. You made some great points and I’ll let him know your thoughts.

Safe to bet that my friend and I lost our minds when he brought it over along with yugioh cards during our quarterly battle of opening a booster box together and seeing who pulls better

I saw that as well. I am in the group that thinks that this was not resealed but a factory error. It looks too clean to me to be a reseal. Like the guides looked like they were never touched before. This is was not an easy thing to come by for years and still isn’t. I can’t remember the last time one of these was for sale on ebay (I might also not be looking hard enough) before this one changed hands. The cards have always been valuable (the blue eyes has not been below $100 in NM for over a decade) but there was never big money here for a big scam. That’s why LOB boxes were hit. It was the most valuable thing. This one seems kinda random especially cause sassyotto (aka eaglesfan159 on youtube) is trustworthy and has been around the game for forever. This would’ve had to have been resealed over a year ago which is before the big vintage booms started. Obviously I could be wrong but the timeline doesn’t add up for me to think it’s a reseal.

I was wondering this too - might’ve just been a “factory error” in the sense that the card packet was never placed in the box in the first place.

Hello, I wanted to chime in about the DDS game that you have. I mostly collect DDS cards and encourage you to weigh your game. The sealed game with the promos should weigh close to 3.75 and 3.06 without. Feel free to message me on the E4 discord to chat.

100% correct. It was just a factory error box. No one can duplicate an H-Seam. I think its better to just keep the box as is and get it graded by VGA or WATA. Would increase the value even more than opening it.

100% incorrect. It was simply an error box. I had 2 Obelisk Slifer Ra gameboy box and the one with less weight had the cards and the one with more weight did not. Weight doesn’t mean much for these video game promos.

guys do you know how much these cards are going for nowadays. i know they are rare and hard to price so any guess is appreciated.

  • PSA 10 1st Edition Ghost Rare Stardust Dragon
  • PSA 10 1st Edition Cyber End Dragon Ultimate Rare
  • PSA 10 Harpie Feather Duster Tournament Pack 8

Thanks  I plan on weighing the game, but I have to get an appropriate scale first.
