Hi all! I’ve been a longtime lurker on E4 ever since I got back into collecting, and what better way to finally start a post other than sharing my favorite pokemon of all time: Scizor!
Scizor’s been my favorite Pokémon, since like… as long as I can remember HAHA! Like many of us, I started collecting when I was a kid. I lived in Japan for most of my childhood and like most of my friends at the time, I was obsessed with Pokemon. In fact, I still have one of my vintage Scizor cards from back then!
After moving to the US after some time, I never really collected seriously other than playing the videogames (specifically VGC). I really started getting back into collecting in the summer of 2024 after visiting Japan post college graduation, which reignited my love for collecting!
My collection goal includes collecting all TCG Scizors in all languages! I have mainly been focusing on my English (PSA 9-10) and Japanese (PSA 10) masterset this year, and have been working on all languages on the side (which has mainly been all raw cards, but I am starting to grade more languages…) I also pick up as many non-tcg items and merchandise when I can, especially when it comes to adding to my growing army of Scizor fit plushies!

The Scizor International PSA Masterset
Currently, the Scizor master set on the PSA registry contains mostly English and Japanese cards, however it was made an international masterset a few weeks ago! Currently, I am rank #2 on the set registry at 86.61% with a goal of being #1!
I roughly own about 139 slabs right now, with a couple more in the PSA vault and counting! While I would love to display every single one here, I think that would be quite overwhelming at first hehe… I post quite regularly on Instagram and love to chat and share with other collectors there!
Spectacular Scizors
While I do say I love my Scizors equally, I do have some favorites that I’ll kickstart my collection post off with first!
#1 - Bugsy’s Scizor 013/141 | Pokemon VS
Funny enough, my favorite slab I own is not a PSA slab haha (even though I own this in a PSA slab as well)! This hands down is my favorite Scizor card of all time. I’m a huge fan of Kyoko Umemoto’s artwork and if I could own the whole PSA population of this card… I would! This slab in particular means a lot to me because it was my first graded card ever. I also love this card because my girlfriend calls it “space Scizor,” which I think is quite fitting. My dream is to own this in a BGS black label, which I always keep my eye out for!

#2 - Scizor Reverse Foil 48/80 | Reviving Legends Unlimited
This… this is probably my magnum opus of researching and collecting. I spent a whole year researching leads and contacting people in search of this card, and if it weren’t for this card, I’d have never started my Scizor masterset. This is the card that most of the people that have found my collection have either contacted me asking to buy it or simply just talking to me about it! The artwork of this card is also chefs kiss, and japanese reverse holos are so beautiful, especially from this era. I am also very fortunate to have found the other 3 PSA 10s, so it’s nice to know where its siblings are!

#3 - Scizor Lv. 49 001/018 | DPPt Test Proof
For the longest time, the L2 rev holo Scizor was probably the rarest Scizor card available… until this showed up! This is the DPPt Test Proof Scizor, a card that I proudly own and am extremely lucky to have. Forgetting the fact that this is a test proof for a second, I actually love the artwork of this card, Saitou just does a fantastic job. I also own self graded versions of both the first and unlimited editions in PSA 10s.

#4 - Scizor 039/059 | BW Cold Flare Unlimited
I think my favorite part about Scizor has always been its metal red outside and I feel like no card does it better than this one! I really love the pose and how red and shiny this card has Scizor’s metal coat (especially in the japanese version). I am still on the hunt for a PSA 10 of the cosmos holo version in English, as that would replace this on my list!

#5 - Scizor 096/106 | Golden Sky, Silvery Storm Auto
Most people are probably familiar with this artwork, and that’s no mistake! It’s a gorgeous artwork by Arita and I’m lucky enough to have it autographed / sketched by him as well. My ask was for the sketch of Scizor’s head to be as big as possible (since most Scizor autos Arita does look like… garbage), and he certainly delivered! This also happens to be my first auto card ever so it holds a special place in my heart.

While I’d love to share more, I would love to organize it a bit more in order to share all of them properly… In the meantime, here’s a photo of part of my display for my Scizors! Not all of them are present, as some have been exiled to storage bins for the sake of space, but here’s a good amount of them. I love sharing display photos!
