Recent research has lead me further down into the rabbit hole. I figured this was some cool information so I would share a bit of what the progression roughly looks like of the front plates used on holofoils and how they progress from the early base set all the way through the final days of WOTC. One of the biggest things found seems to be in the later days they transition to a 45° magenta pattern. This is a pattern that Japan used in their early days and I’ve never seen on any of the prior wizards of the Coast cards.
Legendary collection, skyridge, neo revelation, and aquapolis are all affected. Further more, the cards in these sets that have the 45 degree angles begin printing across the border and seem to show the transition from the old yellow borders.
