This goes back to mid summer tho when everything was on the rise. Gym and neo went thru the roof at the time as well. Some big YT names have opened skyride, gym. neo, etc within the last year or 2 so the exposure to the set is there.
i’m not trying to compare it to base cuz base was so under valued for so long. i Just think the growth neo/gym got was not on par to the growth skyridge should have gotten for a sealed box. The singles for sure went way up for eseries tho.
That growth of gym and neo was all just us collectors, no “investors” or celebs really. It was about pop reports and undervalued cards. Soon they’ll reach the status of “any wotc set with a charizard = 25k” when someone famous notices
When D&A sells, its no less than 10% of asking price. I bought their PSA 9 1st ed Neo disc holo set and they raised the price on it lol. Was lited for $4500 then they raised it to 5400. I bought it for $5k.
So the question is whether the listing sold, or whether they simply took it out (unsurprisingly as @dbmoney10 suggested: they’ve not replied to my question) ~
I asked them the same question a few days ago about the EX Dragon box they had up for $18k (although I worded it as “I noticed this listing is no longer up; I’m assuming that this is no longer available?”). Also didn’t get a response. Although I’m not certain that we can assume that any of the boxes they had up sold, because it looks like they don’t have a single non-current Pokemon box listed for sale on either their website or eBay. Maybe they were bought out but it’s not clear at this point :/.
Wow…wasn’t it just a week or two ago that people were laughing at Logan Paul for paying $200k for 1st Ed. Base box? And now it’s already probably double that based on the $250k buylist price and the recent $375k sale…
Also, for reference, the buylist prices of the other WotC sets are:
They judge the market by how soon and easy it would be to flip it for money. And I’m not saying that as a bad thing. They are a business and they would need to be sure if they decide to liquidate or sell would they get their money back or not. Or on a day-to-day basis, make a healthy profit
He seems to have a way with making people overpay for items. That and he’s already demonstrated his willingness to shill and artificially inflate prices. I wouldn’t trust anything that guy’s involved in.
