I’m curious regarding why this Tomy sold for such a high price when it’s in played condition. Is it from a rare set? (not the first Tomy that I saw going for over 10000yen)

well I remember this post from @shizzlemetimbers which had a tomy figure of 120000 yen, he might be able to tell you more.

Electrode and Voltorb are the two most expensive of the Generation 1 TOMY figures. I’m not sure if its due to lower distribution or maybe that they are prone to falling off their bases, but its been that way for as long as I have collected them.
Electrode in particular can bring $200-250 if in really good condition. So I think this price is a bit much for one with that much wear, but its not totally crazy
