hey everybody!
i met Uri about a month ago and asked him about is new museum and he was really nice about it, the kadabra thing didnt came up .
but i did asked him about it when i saw him in Eilat last year…he said that he will never give up the rights for kadabra, not because money issues ( he got enough money for all of us ) but because Pokemon never admitted it was based on him. long story short its all about Ego.
BTW, all the money he did got on the rights for kadabra was donated.
i am probably will go to the opening of the museum(20/12) and i can ask him to sign some kadabras cards. if it will do as planed i dont mind ask him to sign some more for you guys.
What does that even mean? The Abra line is referenced to individuals associated with the supernatural.
I hate to say this, he could had been serving you blue pills in a same fashion to how he tried with Louis Theroux once. Uri has used Kadabra as a reference to him on recent social media posts and Pokémon could swipe back at that at any time if that was the case.
He realises we all see Kadabra as a symbol for good now. It’s also the company at fault for not coming to an agreement, imagine if Uri was more forward thinking positive risk at the time in asking for passive income under every use of Kadabra.
I’d like to wish the charities knew where it was coming from and why but that’s naive.
Do you know how you might approach him about that? I feel like this is an opportunity for our community to potentially bridge that gap and have something like this settled.
@kurtosisblakeinfini,I understand what you’re saying, I don’t know Uri personally and I know it’s not his first time acting in this way.
he doesn’t take it as seriously as we take it, maybe if he knows the hobby community he’ll treat it differently.
@azulryu, Look, every time I contacted him he was nice and didn’t hesitate to talk to me about any topic I wanted, even if it was Pokémon. But I think there’s a legal matter here, which isn’t sure that talking to someone without influence like me will help.
Plus, all that spoon bending thing, that’s his bit, the one he’s living for, (his museum has a truck-sized bent spoon) so I don’t think he’ll give up that icon so quickly
@imakuni, I may have expected too much. I was merely asking if you had an idea about how you might approach him about Kadabra signings. I just find it doubtful that, since there is a legal case behind it regarding his ego and Pokemon’s inability to admit they used his name as inspiration, he would go ahead and sign some. I feel like it would start meandering into a legal gray area. I feel like signing Kadabra cards would be an admittance of acceptance that Pokemon used his name. Or, on the other hand, it may cause Pokemon to feel that way and cause another legal issue. I wish you the best of luck though.
It would be so cool if they did Kadabra only in English, I know it is practically impossible but still, if the name in English is not the problem they could do it and that way we would have such a unike English card
So I emailed him too, on Wednesday the 16th. It started as a complete troll then I thought maybe I could get a sweet card out of this signed by him. Then he actually turned out to be very friendly and unbelievably quick in responding! So this is how my conversation went with him! I was very suprised.
My 1st email:
His reply:
So he admits here he made a mistake about the whole thing and said he would let pokemon do ungeller again!? (Is that Japanese kadabra?) I didnt actually watch any of these videos yet. I probably will though haha.

My final response:
@imakuni if you can get a kadabra card signed by him for me you would be my number one champion and I’d be in your debt forever!
Cross, you are a lucky one. He offered to send you an auto. Not me ahahahaha.
@mikejofthecoast, We’ll see if I even get it. I figured he was over it and wanted little to do with the whole controversy anymore. It couldn’t have been good for his image to be known as “that one guy who sued Pokémon”.
Wait, did you two just take a step in the right direction into getting Kadabra back in print?
This could be huge. You have Uri Geller himself giving his blessing. Send a message to the Pokémon company (or start a social media movement (#UriKadabra)) in order to notify the Pokémon company and perhaps the two parties involved could strike a deal.
