I think a better comment would have been that I’m apathetic towards shiny pokemon. In 20+ years of playing the games I’ve never caught one and have only run into a single one naturally, a Poochyena in Ruby. (Excluding red gyarados in Gold).

I think a better comment would have been that I’m apathetic towards shiny pokemon. In 20+ years of playing the games I’ve never caught one and have only run into a single one naturally, a Poochyena in Ruby. (Excluding red gyarados in Gold).

Yeah i can understand that. I’ve only ever ran into a Swablu with full odds in Sapphire. Recently, I did just use the Pokeradar in Shining Pearl to get a shiny Ponyta and Girafarig. The whole process took about 4 hours total to get both of them, so not as much of a time investment as you may think. But, yes, it certainly was a chore haha.

I’m pretty ignorant to new methods of shiny capture as I’ve only ever seen people on youtube resetting their game 4k+ times. Shiny steelix is pretty cool. Fully gold

Agreed. They are cool to look at but the catch rate is so abyssmal I couldn’t possibly justify going out of my way to catch them

I’ve run into two in my entire life: a shiny Meowth in Pokemon Crystal and a shiny Gumshoos in Pokemon Sun/Moon. They do absolutely nothing for me, and while there are a couple of decent-looking shinies, most of them look terrible.
