No man you need to find the hidden hobby card shops that sell rare singles! Not the big brand name stores because they just sell the typical retail stuff.

try go to Akihabara and ask one of the nerds for any good card stores/hobby stores!

I’ve been to Japan 3 times now, each time for two weeks+.
If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that any money you save buying nerdy things there you lose more of just being a tourist. Most everything is incredibly expensive v____v

Some of the best trips in my life though.

No matter where you go there will be hobby shops, and the smaller ones you run into tended to be way better than the bigger hobby shops in akihabara. I’d recommend just keeping an out out whenever, one of the best I found was while I was walking randomly from one temple to another in Kyoto. That place was a real treasure trove, if I can find it online I will post it

the video of those guys going to a shop looks like Mandarake in Nakano lol but also from 2 years ago so things might have changed just a bit. I will say the transportation is where your money will go through the most followed by food depending where you eat in tokyo but buying stuff is 50/50 and depends where. for me the exchange rate a couple of weeks ago from USD to Yen was good so it was worth it. but if you are looking for single cards Mandarake is one place to go since they have a BIG BIG variety of cards from pokemon,yuigoh, dice-oh, ganbaride cards and many more.heck you can find transformers and even lots of star wars there now. my only regret was not picking up a few of the gold stars while I was there. but one good thing about the workers are they will help you check out the cards before you purchase it

Thanks so much for the responses guys. Didn’t bring a laptop with me, so uploading pics is tedious, but I’ll do it once I’m home. Gotta say, Pokemon isn’t as big here as I thought. Found a few hreat things, but the Pokemon sections in the shops are generally quite small. They’re huge on MTG though which is great. Still have Tokyo and Seoul to search though!
