Wow that’s cool to hear, thanks. I play a bit of magic and never realized that.
@trainerjack @quuador - For years I’ve been hopeful that they take the original design to create a new Pokemon. Would give me an excuse to collect something else because of the affiliation. XD Honestly they could!
It looks like a solid middle evolution between the karp and gyarados
I have never heard of this. That is so awesome. I suppose it would be hard back then to really pinpoint if that was intentional or not. Great fact.
Maybe it will be a regional variant Gyarados someday.
Well… there goes my sleep tonight.
My favorite fact about Pokemon is that you do not choose the hobby the hobby chooses you.
Really like how many people have really established a position in the hobby on the other hand bad people or people with intentions get singled out very fast and will not get far. Must say here in Europe mainly the netherlands things are fine some weird people but they do not get much business.

Escavalier has the lowest speed stat of any fully evolved, non-mega stage 1 Pokemon (together with Ferrothorn), yet its original Pokedex-entry describes it as flying around “at high speed”.

Anorith and Armaldo are 462 million years older than the youngest Fossil Pokemon, the Tyrantrum line and Bastiodon line.
Beta Scott < Alpha Scott
I feel like there are a lot of Pokémon that have a dex entry talking about speed the the mon has a questionable speed stat haha. That fossil fact is cool. It’s interesting to see era of the prehistoric Pokémon world.

Scyther’s original name was Strike. Glad it was changed.
The swirl on Poliwag’s belly is actually its inner organs showing through its semi-transparent skin.
I never knew that. I enjoy Scyther more too.
Blastoise is the best starter artwork from base set.
Geodude’s name in German is “Kleinstein”, which literally translates to “small stone.”
Never knew that. So the Poli evolution line is basically inspired by Glass Frogs. I always thought those frogs were both fascinating and disturbing at the same time…
Greetz,
Quuador
Yeah this is very interesting! I own two copies of this card. I like knowing the card was intentional and not just a factory mistake.
Unfortunately, almost no one is aware of the fact it was a secret rare, or that the mystery was actually solved. The proof is buried in an old thread on this forum. How is it supposed to ever become common knowledge? Even an active member of this forum community could have easily missed that thread. So, unless a PokeTuber makes a video about it I don’t think the masses will ever know about it. I guess the same is true for a lot of specific details in this hobby.
@squirtle1000 I wholeheartedly agree. It’s an incredible discovery and would be a terrific advertisement for e4 if only more people would know about it. Hence why I always mention it when I get the slightest chance ![]()
