Decided to shiny hunt Applin (evolves into appletun) using the masuda method and I’ve now hatched 840 and still haven’t gotten one. The things we do for love…

That’s interesting because I see familiarity in facial shape structures towards dogs and constrictors, namely boas. Not to take from your likings honestly, it’s another failure as a missed opportunity to represent a special, more beautiful European exclusive Adder viper.

My favorite in terms of cleverness/design is the Impidimp line, simply because of the typing.

Impidimp is an imp. An imp is a folklore monster in both England and Scotland (the region Sword and Shield is technically set in).

An imp is quite literally like a dark fairy.

Impidimp’s typing is Dark/Fairy.

I also really like Grimmsnarl’s design, especially the gigantamax which looks incredibly menacing.

I would say grookey and galarian ponyta. Not really feeling this gen, I don’t dislike the new pokemon but I don’t really like them either. Just feeling really indifferent about all of gen 8 right now, hoping the cards will be good. So far the first few japanese gen 8 promos have been very nice so I have hope.

Rookie starters are very decent, and there are some good designs for the other pokemons, but with gen 7 and 8 I have seen the highest % of crap design and ideas ever. If I have to choose a pokemon that’s on Sword and Shield it woud be this one
