Mine is to narrow my collection down and focus on completing my more pertinent goals before moving on to side projects. For me this order is:
- Finish my EX Series Master sets (Mostly missing Gold Stars and Reverse Holos at this point)
2.) Finish completing my D&P series sets (reverse holo in these sets doesn’t matter to me because they are all the same easily scratchable foil pattern)
3.) Obtain 4x copies of each playable staple from 2003 to 2011. (My original goal was to actually have complete decks for this era, but this is a rather daunting task. I would rather just be able to play any deck I wanted at any point, so 4 cards will do. Having several hundred dollars tied up in Jirachis and Rockets Admins just feels bad. )
Maybe if I speak these things into existence I will actually complete my goals…

Actually my goal, too, haha 
Best case would be an ungraded, LP and upwards, as it’d fit perfectly in my binder, as it has 1 space left for it. 
They rarely come up, though, and their prices aren’t always cheap, so I guess it’s saving up for it throughout the year, haha

I just need a few more cards and I’m done with the Legendary Collection Reverse Holo set, other than that I need to catch up on Japanese Pika promos, few E-Series holos, might pick up a few slabs but nothing major as I want to save for something a bit more pricey this year.

Get at least 30 cards from the most wanted list in my signature. I got 10 of them just yesterday with a single order, so I’m doing pretty good. Other than that I’m planning a short break from pokemon so i can focus more in some side hobbies
Finish my mint WOTC Binder Set Collection! As of now I just need 12 cards – 10 Base Set 1st Ed. holos (unfortunately including the starters), 1st Ed. Light Dragonite, and 1st Ed. Giovanni non holo. I’d also like to buy 1 more sealed ex booster box, probably Crystal Guardians, and obtain more PSA 10 Charizard EX FRLG. Also finish my PSA 10 Crystal and Neo Destiny 1st Ed. Shining Set, just missing Crystal Kingdra and Shining Mewtwo.
This will be the first year in a while that I feel like I’m going to be able to sit back and really enjoy the hobby casually. In 2018, I knocked out damn near every major goal I had for my collection as a whole. So this year is going to be a little more opportunistic/spontaneous. Here are a few things I’ve got my eyes on for a casual 2019:
-Modern Japanese Promos: I’m looking forward to watching as these come out. I’ve really loved them the last couple years and I want to continue picking up the ones I like as they release in 2019.
-Sealed English Booster Packs: I’ve continued to keep my Sample/Dollar Tree pack collection up to date, which I think is the hardest part of pack collecting. I said this when they first started coming out and I’ll say it again: going back and trying to finish these sets for a master pack collection is going to be insanely hard in the future. But I also want to plug away at more of the holes in my older eras for regular booster packs. I’ve had this part of my collection on the back burner for literally five years because other things have taken priority. Will be nice to see more of that come together.
-Japanese Prize Cards? I’m not sure how many of these I like enough to spend the cash on. This year I grabbed the Master’s Key, Victory Orb, a handful of Mysterious Pearls, an Illusion’s Zorua set, Victory Ring, Pikachu w/ Victory Ring, Fan Club Eevee, Palkia/Dialga Championship Arena, and some other stuff that I liked. But there’s definitely a limit to what I like in this category so if I don’t get anything extra in 2019, that’s alright too.
-Random sub-goals: I have been enjoying buying signed cards. I’ll keep grabbing those. Cool New York Pokemon Center stuff and 2004 Worlds Promos are a forever buying goal.

Finish up master sets! I’m focusing on E and ex sets, some of which I’m very close to finishing and others I need quite a bit. I’m excited to work on them though!

**Primary goal:**Find those elusive Japanese common and uncommon cards to complete the Bulbasaur collection. They are hard to find and sometimes can cost as much as buying rares. But that’s the life of a collector.
**Secondary goals:**1. Complete the non-holo section of my First Edition Base Set in Dutch.
2. Progress into completing Base Set in Dutch, really missing a big chunk because never prime focus.

i second your .3 judt buying the rares myself but tbh im 2 days in and only need 4 more rares to get all the rares so happy about the progress myself so far

i hope to finish off collecting available Bulbasaur cards so i can focus more time on tracking down the winner of the Pokemon Snap winning Bulbasaur card and saving up enough money to try and buy one or all of them.

The last SNAP Bulbasaur was sold for 1.5 million Japanese Yen (around 15,000 USD) at the end of 2017 (September to be exact). So if you are looking to buy all 20 of them, I sure hope you’re rich and can convince the current owners to sell. 
With these SNAP cards it’s not only the case of having the money, but more if they pop up somewhere for sale to begin with. The last SNAP Pikachu was sold in 2005 as far as I know… Not that I have enough money to spend even if it would pop up, though…
