WHAT TO LOOK FOR in regards of "DOUBLE HOLO" Shining Gyarados

Hey guys I was checking my binder and came up with the idea of making an informative post about the differences in the opaque white layer of the different Neo Revelations Shining Gyarados as I saw many users struggling with them while buying or telling their own apart. As many are aware the term “double holo” is arbitrary and is only related to the visual effect this variant has, which is mostly appreciated in digital scans. This variant only exist in English in both 1st and unl versions (1st being much rarer). In addition the unl “double holo” version has a variant which I call the “flip a coin” error. This affects the “o” in the word “coin” in the outrage attack text (this “flip a coin” error being much rarer). The foreign release of Neo revelations in German, French and Italian all lack this opaque white layer in the background making them all more “double holo” than English “double holos”, but as every single copy is like this it can’t be considered variant.

“Flip a coin” error:

In resume, and as far as I’m aware, this is a list of all Shining Gyarados variants:

-Japanese Shining Gyarados
-1st ed English Shining Gyarados
-1st ed English “double holo” Shining Gyarados
-unl English Shining Gyarados
-unl English “double holo” Shining Gyarados
-unl English “double holo” + “flip a coin” Shining Gyarados
-1st ed German Shining Gyarados
-unl German Shining Gyarados
-1st ed French Shining Gyarados
-unl French Shining Gyarados
-1st ed Italian Shining Gyarados
-unl Italian Shining Gyarados

Hope that helped!
