No not at all!
**
Do you display them?**
No… my wife would probably kill me. I just have them stashed in my slab case. I’ll take them out once in a while, admire the artwork, and put them back in the dark.
Difference between the game / TCG and restrictions on minors
Well, the overall art is exactly the same as in the game itself. Some people think that’s boring, some people don’t. I personally appreciate arts that aren’t in the game, but those are rare.
Yes, there are age restrictions in place, but they vary between countries. These games are officially licensed within the parental-guidance rules of each Apple and Google store, which is why some versions have censored art compared to the original (covering certain parts of the body with more clothes, etc).
What’s the appeal of these games? Why play them?
Honestly, if you’re an anime lover, you’ve probably gone down quite a rabbit hole and ended up in places you never expected… I just like anime-styled waifus and find them cute.
Also, as someone who works 9–6 (probably more…), I don’t have the time to play “standard” video games in Korea. We live in cramped apartments with one TV to share (and usually my wife is on Netflix). So I’ll just sit with her, do my daily missions on each game (takes about an hour), and listen to her and the TV. If I have more time, I’ll go portable with a Switch or something.
Yes the games might be nsfw but nothing to absurd in my opinion…
The thing is, as I get older, I have less incentive to play long, action-packed games. I prefer small side missions, enjoying the artwork, and the gacha system. It takes less time and energy — perfect for the restricted amount of free time in my life. However I still enjoy playing games like zelda, pokemon, god of war, FF, etc but have much dropped out….When i was younger I use hours and hours to just grind my mmorpg character and whatnot. Now….things have gotten much slower.
Hope this clear up some of your curiosity!!!
