What’s your most recent non-Pokemon purchase?

There’s nothing quite like a crisp CIB GBA game

Got a few pickups from Houston this past weekend for the Other Card Game, bringing me a little bit closer to finishing my vintage cube

(and a couple of bonus cats and lands)

More of a gift but I wanted to share…Jack Daniels Select from the Frank Sinatra Collection!

A buddy bought a full keg direct from the distillery and kindly gifted me one of the bottles last weekend.

Usually a single malt guy but will pop it when my daughter is born this December.

Anyone else collect whisky?

Coming back to say that both of my units broke almost exactly at 1 year. Pretty disappointing. 0/10 do not recommend.

Moving on to a Midea brand dehumidifier. Hopefully one year from now, it’ll remain operational. So far, so good.

My OC commission by Kamonabe! She shipped it off from Japan last night. This is the Hi-res scan of it which will likely be better than any potato pics I can take. Digitally drawn lineart that is printed out and then traditional watercolors are applied.

Gorgeous art! Hopefully we’ll see more of her Pokemon illustrations in card form, as the ones she has posted so far are really nice.

Have been looking at other tcgs recently. I present my newest purchases - Dr. Eggy and Dynamax Tinker Bell.

Thanks! I really hope so. Stoked she got to do a Pikachu.

Did not know there was a glitterfoil promo of that Tink. Did you get the whole secret lair or just the single Eggman?

Just the single, the full set is getting more expensive now but I just wanted the one. Someone was selling Tink seperate from the Fabled collection starter set so I picked it up. Trying not to collect Lorcana (because $$) but I like the look of the glimmer foils.

Wwwooowww I love this. Just the right level of creepy and beautiful. It’s like a Ditto tried to morph into a Houndoom, but has only ever heard about what Houndooms look like from other Pokemon. Gorgeous!

Corocoro G was a 2010-2011 spinoff of Corocoro that was targeted at older teenage boys. Unlike the main magazine’s monthly release schedule, G issues were published every other season in summer and winter. I don’t think it was ever formally ended but only 4 issues were produced; some of the ongoing serializations jumped to later attempts at older demographic spinoffs.

One of the issues had a one shot I was vaguely interested in, but unsurprisingly there aren’t many of the issues floating around. Someone did list the issue I was after for around 14k yen or so and it got snapped up pretty quick in what I think was a panic buy, so I didn’t have high hopes in getting it anytime soon. Happened to check Mercari one random day after that listing to see someone had listed the full set for half the previous listing, so with some help from @amwolf I managed to grab the set.

I was surprised when I got these in hand because I was expecting them to be thicker than the one issue of monthly Corocoro I had, but they’re actually thinner. I guess it makes sense that companies didn’t want to commit to the biyearly spinoff when they could just go for the monthly or other monthly magazines. Content wise, it’s 2010-2011 of course, so late DS and PSP, early 3DS and Vita era. There’s a small feature on Pokemon Black and White, including a short interview with Junichi Masuda, which brings back memories of the days when all the game reveals would be through stuff like Corocoro, so people were eagerly waiting for the new monthly issue for new info drops.

Official component video cables released for Nintendo Gamecube. These are highly sought after by enthusiasts, and the average sale price of used ones have gone above $260 on eBay.

Then here comes this very shady offer of a new unused one selling on Yahoo Japan for $180 by a seller with 0 feedback.

I can understand why this listing lasted for more than 2 weeks and nobody dared buying it since the listing was full of red flags. But hey, I’m in Japan and enjoy full buyer protection, so I decided to give it a shot, and ended up hitting the jackpot. lol
