What Pokémon is going to be the next superstar

… that’s just disappointing lol

I agree that Rowlet has potential, (he’s also the best boi) but also his final evo Decidueye. Personally I don’t like Incineroar but I’ve run into a few kids who have said that he is their favorite along with Litten. I would say Lycanroc also has untapped potential, was in the anime, doggo Pokemon, but which form of him would be the most popular? Not sure. I think each of them have their own merit.

I really hope Raichu gets the love it deserves.

It’s the evolution of the franchise mascot, appeared in multiple episodes including epic fight for the third badge, got the first ever (official) secret rare, and is the Pokemon with the most cards from Base to Neo. It even beats Pikachu, Charizard, Gyarados and Magneton in the amount of cards it got in the original sets outside of promos.

I was the same, but the thing with Incineroar is that it appears in Smash Bros. Since playing with it there, I actually started liking it, and that goes for more people. Come to think about it, I actually think Incineroar might become a big deal.

Genuine question: what are some previous examples of pokemon that weren’t popular immediately but became more popular down the line? I agree with the sentiment that if a pokemon isn’t popular immediately, it most likely won’t be in the future. I’m only thinking of Wooper, but I’d say that’s more as a meme, I’m not sure if that translates to more people now masterset collecting Wooper.

Now that you mention this, was Umbreon actually popular at launch? The last set I opened as a kid was Neo Discovery but I dont remember talking about it at school anymore. Even after coming back to collecting later on, I dont remember Umbreon being the chase, it was just a cool Pokemon.

Don’t think it was as popular as it is now. Jolteon is the one that has fallen down the ranks over time for whatever reason.

I does feel like its stock has risen significantly over the years. Same with Gengar. They’ve both always been good but I don’t remember either having the rabid fan base they have today

I don’t mean to plug other people’s Instagram pages but there’s someone with a purple-wrap 2nd generation MazdaSpeed 3 that did the front end up to appear like Gengar’s signature smile and red eyes, haha. The images are super low quality on Google Images but I thought it was creative. So, +1 for Gengar being the next superstar.

It seems like they’ve added extra red around the headlights since! I think it’s pretty cool, haha!

(I had a 2.5L hatch, same model year, saw it posted on a Facebook group for these cars)

Edit: Their IG handle is on their number plate, or just search “Gengar Mazda” if anyone is curious.

Haha I remember when those ‘smiley’ front ends came out. I always thought they looked kinda goofy but they’ve left me in the dust on a couple occasions. That’s certainly a creative use of the body lines

Next superstar is going to be munchlax.

Give it 5-7ish more years and Greninja will achieve torchic/mudkip status

Krabby’s been in several episodes, movies and memes, people just haven’t realized it yet. Any crab could be krabby in disguise.

Why are there only 11 cards featuring Krabby? For a gen 1 pokemon this is travesty.
